Her memories were beads jumbled loose in a box
The next few moments were interesting to say the least. The man with her seemed to be a parental guardian and was taking on a very protective stance. His reaction to her was interesting and to try and help him, Delta swam to where the two would easily be able to see her. He also seemed... concerned? How funny. "Why wouldn't I be okay?" She said with a slight giggle, clearly confused on why he even asked her that. She was a mermaid and could swim. "I'm not stuck, if that's what you're asking." It hadn't even occurred to her that the man would think she was anything other than a mermaid.
Turning to look at the girl, Delta watched as she crept closer to the edge. Delta offered her a smile, but also made sure to watch with intense gaze, making sure that if she were to fall in, she would be able to rescue her. "What's your name?" She asked the little girl, humored by the excitement and joy that was very clearly evident.
