The mermaid came out into more open water, and Seren all but devoured her with her eyes. Pretty as a picture, small and petite and with flowing fins partly obscured by the water, Delta was every bit the mermaid Seren's favorite stories had suggested.
She took a long, staggered breath when she was addressed, and was encouraged to speak for both her and her father. It was amazing. It was... frankly a bit nervewracking.
"My name is Seren. And this is Ronin. He is my dad." She announced the last bit with a towering pride, like it was the best rekommendation she could give. For both of them.
"What is your name? You are really pretty," she said with a wistful smile. Wishing she could swim well enough to get in the water right away.
