REMI
the alchemist
& my heart ran away with me
A doctor, an arbiter, and a mind-reading captain walk into a bar...

..and try to move it.

'In the big scheme of things...he calls himself a bar owner, but really it's just a way of hoarder alcohol and trying to stir shit up for Raza.' Remi pointed out, the words for everyone but Jack who'd already know the situation well. 'He sells ice cream as well which seems to keep him afloat, but.." Standing in front of Billie's Emporium in all its ramshackle glory, Remi frowned. It was nearly falling down as it was, and word on the street was that the icecream he was selling nowadays was mostly just stale cream poured into empty liquor bottles and then magically frozen.

"Do with that what you will."

This is a regional quest requirement, open to: Sunjata, Nate, and Jack. You will be moving the business of a drunkard who considers himself competition to Raza (he isn't, but he does steal from her often).

Remember, you each need to post 3 times.

SUNJATA
the flood

Well, it certainly wasn’t the information he was expecting, but somehow it makes sense all things considered. At least he’s arrived relatively ready for work, aside from the wound that’s still healing in his gut. Steel eyes flicker from Remi to Jack and then landing on Nate after, a slight raise of his dark brow in response to it.

What do they do with it? In terms of Raza, Sunjata’s surprised there’s any claim to competition with her – especially coming from one bar owner to another. Regardless, he offers Remi a nod, puffing out a quiet sigh as he goes to survey the building. “Alright, well.” He offers with a quiet chuckle, not even sure if the man is around to throw a wrench in their plans. He lifts his hands, rubbing his palms together briefly before exhaling yet another sigh. “I suppose let’s get the shit out of the front and head inside and see what disaster awaits, huh?

Let’s get started moving shit back I suppose ;D

JACK
Smash.

"Oops." Jack didn't make it sound like an accident or sound like he was sorry as he headed around from the back of the business, where he had probably dropped some 'stock' or broken a window in a blatantly false attempt to 'survey' the place.

Even in Deepfrost it was bright enough, and he peered over the rim of his sunglasses at the little gathered group, rolling the sleeves of his shirt up and glancing again at the 'emporium'. "Billie's probably drunk an' passed out somewhere. He ain't gonna be much of a problem, I imagine." Had Jack made it that way? Did knocking someone out while they were drunk mean the same as them passing out because of it? So many questions.

"Should be able to move most of the stock out in crates. Dunno what he expects us to do with the ice cream, though. Maybe he'll have to eat it to get rid."

As far as shitty fronts for mischief go, Nate's seen worse. Honestly, the place reminds him so immediately of home that he can't help the grin on his face, the easy roll of his shoulders he offers in response to Sunjata's look. "Least we've got the experience with this shit, right?" Between three of them, it should be an easy enough job.

Though, speaking of three, Nate let his gaze drift to the other man who was meant to be helping them. Walking up as the apparent cause for some kind of damage is a hell of a way to enter, but the thing that catches his eyes most, out of everything, is the sunglasses. "Guess we should get as much as we can done before he comes back round then?"

Unfortunately.” Sunjata rumbles to Nate with a small half laugh, not looking forward to this portion at all but knowing it needed to be done. He rubs at his arm for a moment, moving toward Jack as he rounds the corner, steel gaze squinting against the light to survey the other man briefly. “I’m sure you can handle him, huh Jack?” Sunjata offers with a small half smirk, before turning toward Nate and nodding in response to that whole subject. The further this was done, the sooner he could go home. And gods, did that not sound really fucking appealing.

First things first, let’s just go ahead and get those crates filled. Leave the ice cream to melt.” He says a bit easier, moving – a bit slower than usual – to head toward the inside of the business to see what sort of state it was in. And gods it was a mess as well. He can’t help but to roll his eyes, going to gather the alcohol, wondering whether it was worth sending back to Raza if it was stolen anyway. Perhaps later – grabbing a few bottles and setting them in a crate, realizing that if he makes it too heavy he won’t be able to move it.

Getting stabbed in the gut certainly fucking sucked.

Alright, fill the crates and move em outside!

Ah, the consequences of one's own actions. Jack had to hide his smirk at hearing Sunjata's less than optimistic opinion about being stabbed in the guts (because it did suck, he was completely right about that), instead following the men inside to take stock of the piss hole Billie used as a business. "I've been wantin' to handle him for a few years, if handlin' him counts as hittin' him so hard he falls in the sea," he said mildly, kicking about a few bits of debris.

But they were here for a cause after all, and Jack soon joined in with filling crates with bottles, files, and other evidence of the 'business' that ran here. "Reckon this is just his private stash," he muttered as he took the crate out.

A rough laugh leaves Nate as they enter the building, though it dies on his lips fairly quickly as he sees the inside, his nose wrinkling. It's been a while since he's been in a place like this, and gods he did not miss it, rose tinted nostalgia be damned. "Too bad you couldn't have done it before this, huh?"

The faster they worked though, the faster they'd be done, and Nate found himself moving as quickly as he could, trying to make up for the slower pace Sunjata worked at. Not that he begrudged the other man, at least if the gentle touches that dragged along his hips every time Nate walked by were any indication.

Things were thrown haphazardly into boxes, no care given to what went where, as long as it filled the crates. He did find himself wondering, around the third or fourth crate dragged outside, if maybe one or two bottles would be missed, if they came home with him. Not everything was bottom shelf swill, as far as he could tell.

Handle him however you want.” Sunjata remarks with a light hum of a laugh, a slight roll of his shoulders offered as he glances toward Jack with a wry smirk. “Won’t see me doing anything about it.” He half mumbles at the end, though the amusement with the thought of it is almost palpable to him – lips quirking in a small smirk as he enters the establishment.

He fills the crate in front of him, a bit slower than he’d like, but its still progress. Steel gaze lifts toward Jack to watch the crates the other man fills head out, as well as the ones that Nate seems to go through. And once Sunjata’s done enough of the crates – slipping over toward Nate and reciprocating the light touch. “Mind taking the crates I filled outside?” A raise of his brow, a small boyish grin flashed toward Nate, before he’s slipping away toward the ice cream fiasco.

And subsequently makes a pile of it, leaving it in the corner for whatever Billie wanted to do with it – though Sunjata much preferred the idea of setting it out in the Torchline sun and watching it melt – before he’s moving on again. “If he’s not here to grab it before it’s gone, that’s on him.” Sunjata mutters to those around him, gesturing with a tilt of his head toward the pile of ice cream in the corner.

The rest of it though could continue to be moved and taken outside if it seemed important enough. But Sunjata heads straight outside, ready to help load the crates onto a sled of sorts, to be dragged out of the way of where the canal would come through.

Alright, grab the rest of the leftovers inside the house and we can start moving everything away! (I hope i'm doing this right xD)

It absolutely didn't take Jack long to get bored with all of this, the captain filling crates and taking them out to the sled, before returning for the rest. When he ran out of booze to stack up, he turned to other things important to Billie's 'business', moving boxes of papers and rolling out a couple of barrels as well (he was sure they were just for show, though, because like fuck did the man actually brew his own beer).

"Glad to hear it, but I ain't touchin' him with a barge pole if I can help it. Not if we're leavin' that ice cream here to melt and go sour." He scoffed to Sunjata, rolling his shoulders and heading out into the sun so they could start pulling the crate. "Where's the lucky asshole movin' to, then?"

"You're just milking that gut wound, huh?" Nate teased gently, moving around Sunjata to grab the last of whats packed up, and cart it out into the sun. Both of them knew he'd be more upset by having to replace stitches, or worse, than anything else.

He came out just in time to hear the tail end of Jack's words, his own eyes rolling in response. "Somewhere better than he deserves, more than likely." Nate mumbled under his breath, organizing the last of the crates on the sled and leaning against it, brows raised towards Sunjata as he waited to see what they were going to do about the actual moving.

SUNJATA

Of course I’m milking it.” Sunjata replies back, shooting Nate an innocent grin despite the admission. But before long, the crates and other random bullshit are placed outside, popped onto the sled while Sunjata listens to Jack’s comment, a quiet chuckle leaving the attuned as he considers it. “Maybe something will happen.” He shrugs, shoulders rising and falling – another portrait of innocence before he considers where they’re relocating the man.

It’s a small ways away, far enough to not be involved with the canal, but certainly better than what he deserved as Nate had put it. He rests a hand on top of one of the boxes they’d stacked on the sled, finding that it looked like just enough to not be too heavy for him to pull. He grabs a bit of string to tie around the boxes so they don’t quite fall off in transit – though if some slipped out, oh fucking well.

There’s an empty place a couple of alleys over we’re putting him. He can deal with being further away from the Hanged Man.” He considers the two he’s arrived with, standing closer to Nate and reaching out to give the Ascended a light squeeze. “I’ve an idea that specifically involves you.” He rumbles to Nate with a light smirk, moving to pull Nate toward him. “Just use the Nyala shift and I’ll tie you in.” His head lifts, offering his neck already peppered with healed Ascended bites for another to add to the mix.

It’s work, right? Perhaps a quick bite much like what occurred in the volcano eruption was easy enough, not as distracting, and despite the thoughts and feelings that swirl through his mind and body with a sharp intake of breath, Sunjata does his best to recover for a few moments.

And once we get there, we can just unload it out front.” His voice is a bit rougher here, but he slips away toward the front of the sled where a harness was laid out – helping Nate step into the harness to tighten it around him.

It luckily didn’t take that long to get there, only one or two boxes had threatened to fall (though if the bottles of the cheaper things broke in transit, oh well), and soon enough Sunjata’s stopping in front of a very abandoned looking place, moving to untie Nate and help unload the boxes.

At least they were dragging all this crap somewhere close. A grin plays over Nate’s face as he’s reached for, pulled in, his brows rising at the words. ”I have a lot of ideas that involve just you, dikbek.” He replies brightly, turning back just long enough to offer a wink towards Jack, his face smug. Though, it’s a little unexpected how well his thoughts and Sunjatas idea align.

The bite is quick, followed up with a kiss to the spot, Nate trying to keep his hands from roaming like he wants to, to be the sturdy force the other man needs to catch his breath. As soon as he’s settled, Nate steps away, still unused enough to shifting fully that he wants the extra space for it. There’s no fight put up a when it comes to the harnessing, and before long he’s dragging the bundle of crap through the streets, stopping before the newer, nicer location.

He doesn’t even bother waiting for help, shifting back into himself and letting the straps for the harness fall where they will, arms reaching out to wrap around Sunjatas hips as he comes close. Though Nate keeps the horns, liking the way they feel, they way they make him, fairly or not, the tallest in the group. He gets back to work, unloading the crates in the same haphazard way he’d brought them out in the first place, setting things down at random out front of the new space. They’d said moved not organized, right?

JACK
Moving somewhere close, breaking some of the stock along the way, other hilariously mischievous and unsavoury things, yadda, yadda, yadda - excuse me though, what the fuck just happened please?

Jack had been circling the sled, trying to figure out if everything was secure (or perhaps where something could slip out and smash), glancing up only to see Nate and Sunjata get even more touchy feely than they had been throughout this whole task.

Then Nate leant in and gave Jack a front row seat into just what it meant to be bitten by an Ascended, causing several problems in that moment. First, Jack had never met an Ascended, but now - lol, he definitely wanted to know more. Second, how does one keep their telepathy a secret when trying not to walk bow-legged for apparently zero reasons? Third, Nate was a fucking deer now?

He was lucky, perhaps, in that all parties involved were just as distracted as Jack as they moved the sled (and boy did he fucking know it), and he was able to gain some semblance of himself back when they arrived at their destination.

"Any time you want to stop makin' me a third wheel, we can get on with this and you lovebirds can find an alley to go and fuck in," he said, already unloading the crates and setting them down without a care.

The bite is over quickly, just enough for Nate to get what he needs to shift into that hooves form of Sunjata’s, and when he starts to catch his breath — there’s a look in his eyes that seems to scream ‘later’ before Sunjata swallows hard and works to recover, tying Nate into the harness to pull the sled, not thinking or caring what Jack has to think on the matter (of course blissfully unaware of the magic the other man possessed).

Before long, however, they’re there and unloading, and Sunjata moves toward the front to try and untie Nate before the Ascended is shifting but keeps the horns placed on his head — the dark horns curling about the Ascended’s raven hair, making him taller than Sunjata was, much to the attuneds amusement. Nates arm slinks around his hips and Sunjata reaches up to run a hand along the horns with a small playful smirk. “They’re nice, aren’t they?” He hums, leaving Nate to help unload the boxes in just as much of a careless manner as the rest of them.

As for Jack’s comment, however, he snorts and shakes his head a bit, flashing the smuggler a smirk. “Who said anything about a third wheel?” Sunjata rumbles, offering another quiet hum of a laugh to that before unloading the last bit of the boxes. And when that’s done, he leans back against the sled briefly, surveying the work they’d done. “Well, I guess that’s that.” Because of course he’d be lying if he didn’t say he wanted this over with specifically to go home with Nate and show him just how much fun those horns could be.
