OLIVER
Making blades wasn't easy.

Making good blades was extremely not easy.

It was something Oliver found himself tirelessly working at. Luckily, if something went wrong, he could typically find a new purpose for the metal easily and used it as a learning experience. A couple of flawed blades came out and the ones that weren't falling apart were saved, maybe for possible sale or just to compare his work to in the future. Whatever his reasoning was, he kept it a secret. Visitors were scarce, only really seemingly consisting of Amun and Aisha. It wasn't really a bad thing, but it made things super lonely.

His mind wandered and he found himself focusing deeply on perfecting his blades. Long nights and long days led up to some failures and some partial successes. It took a lot but eventually he made a couple of blades he would feel comfortable showing others. One in particular was a bit fancy.

It was his first time trying to go all out. Once the blade was complete, he carefully heated up the blade once more before proceeding to work on creating intricate details. Swirls that were soft and not quite altering the weight, but give it a bit of a style. It took a bit of work but eventually, Oliver found himself smiling at his work.

Once it was complete, Oliver would wrap it up in a cloth. A string was tied around it to hold together the two pieces before he finally finished it off by writing a note.

The note was simple and read:
For anyone who made need it

No signature was needed.

The item and note was left out on an abandoned table. Hopefully it wouldn't be ruined by the snow and Oliver could only hope that the blade may go to someone who would use it well and maybe even recognize the craftsmanship behind it.
Isn't it amazing
How we can never tell
Who is in an identical hell

EVELYN

It was night-time, a time for cold, for everyone to gather in their houses safe and warm. And Longnight was approaching, so the place was looking rougher than usual - windows and doors boarded up, people afraid to make eye contact with each other lest they pre-emptively invite a monster into their home.

Evelyn smiled. She and her twin were monsters, of a sort. Not so different to those that roamed the streets in the pitch darkness of the Longnight.

The cold did not bother, and her keen eyes saw more details than they previously would've.

A parcel, a package, left on a table, suspiciously alone. The cherub approached it with caution, eyes narrowing as she observed it.

Flicking at the note with delicate hands, she read it, and became more interested - a single brow raising as she felt through the cloth at what might lie within.

A blade, handsome and refined, styled and sharp. Elegant but practical.

She liked it very much, and smiled a grin that hinted at devious inclinations as she wrapped it back up in its cloth, and placed it in her bag. She would get a holster of sorts made for it, so that she might wear it attached to her belt, but for now, she would collect it - it counted as an upgrade of sorts, in her mind. Until she was able to wield claws from her own hands, knives and blades would do.

Then she continued on into the night, to explore and learn and travel, and find her sister once more, so that they might venture to the Temple together.
