Samuel
There was something uniquely humbling in the fact that Amalia had come over to help so quickly; Sam would never be able to relate to his sister's devotion to the Old Gods but he respected her kindness, her attempts to do the good thing even when they didn't work out. With their tumultuous past to consider as well, she really had shown a great deal of compassion for his plight and in his now lengthy amounts of free time while the sun was up, he took to making her a gift.

He considered making a book, but he'd already made one for Amalia's wedding and besides, he thought he might like this to be an anonymous gift. Something given to let Amalia know she was appreciated, but not to give himself credit. With that in mind, he decided to try his hand at some baking: he remembered she'd told him once that she liked lavender and honey scones. Not anything he had any experience in, but he had a lot of time and a newly cleaned kitchen to work in...

When he'd finally come up with a batch he could call edible, he was proud of himself, even if they were rather lumpy. Wrapped up in a cloth and tied with a ribbon, the only writing on the tag bore Amalia's name and nothing else: left outside the door of where she was staying, he hoped she would find the scones to be a nice token of appreciation from someone out in the world.
