So many questions in the world, and so little time to investigate each and every one. Jigano had his Seekers, who came and went with the seasons and years, but through it all he remained, ever-curious and ever-seeking, hunting out answers as he learned more about the world.

Some of those answers turned out to be wrong. Others were right at first, but changed over time. The Provost was constantly revising what he knew – or what he thought he knew – as he kept his eyes and ears and mind open.

Today he walked Haulani’s streets, nodding politely to those who recognized him as one of the saviors of the city from his quick-thinking during Apopo’s eruption, heading back from a successful gathering trip in the jungle. His pack was filled with wild fruits and roots to supplement the food in the Temple for LongNight, fresh and flavorful compared to the Grounds’s blander, tougher fare, but a little shop on a corner caught his eye and, curious as always, he ducked inside to peruse their shelves for a new book to read during the approaching week of darkness.

Use of Broken Spectacles | These glasses can translate certain texts, however because of the damage they do not do so with any reliability. (OOC: Will translate one plot-related text per season)

He tilted his head, pausing briefly over the tome that had caught his eye and scanning the pages swiftly. Some knowledge was worth savoring, worth bringing back to the Atheneum and the Guild's collection. Other times something only needed to be read once, and he closed the book swiftly with a faint frown marring his expression. He tapped the spine lightly, trying to decide what to do with it--

"Buy it or move on!" the bookseller grumped from the counter at the back of the little structure, and Jigano pasted an apologetic smile on his face.

"Of course, here," he traded a bit of food for the little book, tucking it distractedly into his pack as he headed out into the street. There was much to do and no time in which to do it, and Rory would be wondering where he'd gotten off to. Maybe a pineapple would sweeten his lover's disposition?
