Not nearly enough time has passed for them to have ended up in this position again, falling apart, falling together, liquor burning a hole through Sunjata and Nate desperately wishing he could touch that same flame. It's not any easier feeling this time, but at least he doesn't have to choke through a confession, doesn't have to worry about being pushed away for real. Or maybe he does, and he isn't worried enough. Gods, he's all over the place right now.
The voice purring against his neck has Nate curving into it, trying to catch the edge of the other mans voice, etching the rumbling sound into his mind like the grooves of a record. "It does." He hums back, knowing that they haven't really addressed the problem, the concerns yet, but more than happy to drift along this distraction for as long as it will have them. "Y'got good taste darling." The quirk of his lips is pressed against Sunjata's skin, not quite a kiss, not quite a smile, but more present than either, more intentional than nothing.
"We're gonna be okay." Even as it comes out of his mouth, Nate knows it's an impossible claim to make, though okay feels so far below good that he isn't sure it's even worth trying for. Logically, it'd be better to cut his losses, walk away, and he'd done that more than once. Here he is though, trying like he never has before, over and over. "Eventually. I think." There's a humourless huff, Nate's arms growing tighter. "Even..." He begins, the thought sticking to his tongue, refusing to come out. He can't leave anything left unsaid now, can he?
"Even if we aren't, I'm glad I've got you now Sunny."
