Fingers run through Nate’s hair gently, feeling it as if it’s a soft and smooth river to the touch. The question is aired, and he meets Nate’s gaze, watches as it slowly focuses on him. The words that leave have Sunjata clutching his husband tighter to him, the gushing met with a touched smile, pulling on the edges of his lips. Their foreheads meet and Sunjata has finally managed to catch his breath, running his hand along Nate’s side. “I’m lucky too.” He murmurs softly, pressing a brief kiss to Nate’s nose.
But then he can feel his husband’s fingers on the bruises that begin to form, along the tender skin that has his breath hitching lightly with the sensation. “I do too.” A brief, tired smirk crosses his face before it fades and he’s managed to recover enough. He leans in, arms tight around Nate so that they might be able to stand, to orient themselves again, to pull up his pants and ensure that he’s got everything they need.
The wings retract, tucking in, arm wrapping around Nate once he’s finally ready. “C’mon, let’s go see what else is out here.” If he leans a bit more on Nate while he tries to get blood flowing through himself again, well, it is what it is.
