Who knew I'd make her so blue
The weather was absolutely gorgeous and it was finally time to truly explore the Haulani.

While she did explore the canals a small bit, it was extremely hard to do so and actually enjoy herself thanks to the uh... the whole 'sharks cant exactly lift their heads above the water'. That made things very hard. Also she was a massive shark and couldn't move.

Yeah.

But! The curse was gone and she could explore! And everything was so awesome.

Right now she found herself in a lovely spot for people watching. She had her arms folded to help keep her upper half above the water as she looked around, eyes wide and a smile on her face. There were so many fun shops and fun people and-

So much stuff!!

It’s a normal Leafchange day, supposedly - except for the fact that Raza is running late for work. “Late.” The boss is never late unless there’s a meeting and when does Raza ever have employee meetings? It’s just her and Mik usually. He’ll gripe ‘n grumble, but he also knows Raza will make it up to him. She always does - some way or another.

Rounding the corner, the tall, lean woman is momentarily distracted by a stray animal fight as it crosses right in front’a her, two cats racin’ through the streats like their tails are on fire. She narrowly avoids them, but then manages to misstep in a murky puddle, the stagnant, film-covered liquid sloshing in between her toes and coverin’ her sandals. Her whole body immediately tenses up, a disgusted expression stamped, into her features as she realizes just where she’s stepped. And then the bar owner pulls her foot out, looks at it, and starts to hunt for something to wash it off - in lieu of cutting it off, that is.

Unfortunately for the Torcher, she needs her foot. She’ll just need to sanitize the shit outta it before she lets it back into her bed at the end of the day.

Who knew I'd make her so blue
Eyes shift around at the people traveling around. Kids are heard playing in the distance, she can hear the faint whispering between men, and people go about their day with baskets and crates in hand. It's so beautiful and Delta can only imagine where people are heading to or what the conversations are about.

With so much hustle and bustle, it's almost impossible to spot Raza in the distance. Immediately recognizing her, the Mer's eyes widen and she ducks under the water, swimming towards the woman.

Resurfacing, she is finally close enough to the barkeep to get a good word in. "Raza? Is that you? It's Delta!" Hopefully Raza remembered her- there conversation was so fun! Delta learned so much about human games and it was very silly and fun!

Now that she was closer to the woman, she got a good look at her er- dirty foot? "What happened to your.... foot?" Was it a foot? That sounded right... but also human words were weird.

Someone calls her name, and she doesn’t expect it to come from the canal, so even when she hears a name (and let’s be honest, it’s been a season or two since she’s seen the mermaid - the girl’s name has been momentarily forgotten) she has to think a moment. Who is Delta? But after looking around, her glance finally falls to the water and the mermaid half-propped up on the side.

Offering a tight-lipped smile, Raza heads towards the canal and then all of a sudden stops, lookis down at her foot, which is covered in city sludge, oily and rank, and then to the water. She hesitates. The sea is filled with all kinds of stuff, but with the mermaid there she’s not as eager to sully the immediate area. “Hey Delta…” she says a little awkwardly.

“Stepped into a gross puddle of some shit or something. Haulani ain’t the cleanest…” Grimacing, there’s some obvious tension as the need to clean herself off and respect for someone else’s… home? war within the Torcher.

Who knew I'd make her so blue
Thankfully, Delta didn't notice that Raza took a bit to recognize her. That might've gone pretty bad. "How have you been? it's been a while." Delta wanted to talk far more, clearly eager to see the woman again. Raza was interesting and now that they had the canals, maybe Delta could join her on her daily commute! Oh, what a human thing to do!!!

Looking at the sludge on her foot, Delta frowned and tilted her head to the side. It was nice that Raza hadn't dunked her feet into the water. It was always nasty when Delta saw gunk and trash in the water. Thankfully, it wasn't a common thing, but it was still a major hatred of her's.

"Can you take a few steps back? I can clean it off for you, but I don't want it to go into the water." Delta would wait to see if Raza would accept her help. And if she did, Delta would use her water magic to splash water at Raza's foot, hoping to clean it off.

“Oh, you know…” she says with a wave of her hand, indicating absolutely nothing specific at all. “Busy again, now that the Hanged Man is fixed up.” And that’s it, really. With Remi gone, she no longer has to entertain a position. The Ark’s line of business is slower now than when they first came to port, but she ain’t about to tell Delta that.

Her thoughts don’t matter again, but that don’t mean she doesn’t have thoughts on the way things are shapin’ up. At least the girl has a solution, otherwise Raza would’a had to end the conversation rather quickly. Without protest, the bronzed woman steps back and extends her foot out, easily balancing on the other as the mermaid’s water magic washes the refuse off her and back into the street.

Huh. Guess the canals are good for somethin’. “Thanks,” she says with a smile, shaking the sandaled foot to get the extra water off. “So what’s going on in your world? Anything interesting?” Taking a few steps back towards the canal, Raza squats down to be more on the mer’s level. Seemed rude to just... hover above her.
