As she rolls her eyes, he finds far more appreciation with her. She’d picked up on his whims and playfulness with ease, and it only made their growing friendship that much easier. But he keeps his mouth shut, nothing else but a snort given to her, as he follows her to where she’s picked where they’d spar. He wraps his hands, preferring it to anything else, and lets his gaze flicker over her as she names her terms. “Pretty standard, yes.” He agrees with a quiet hum. “No shifts or magic or items as well.” So saying, he tries to make sure that his partial shifts are in order, the only one remaining are the fangs that sit in his mouth, sharp and pointed but no effect to what they’re doing.
He spends a few moments scanning her, glancing over scars and snagging here and there on other nicks in her skin. She wasn’t lying when she said she was a fighter, and he appreciates all of it if he’s being honest. But he tries not to let his gaze linger too long – perhaps just a touch longer than was truly necessary – he raises his brows in surprise at her comment.
