As he misses her side, a grin spreads across his face. They haven’t been able to hit each other just yet, but it made for a fun back and forth – a tango of wills and strengths, and it has him letting his guard down, being a bit more playful in the nature of fighting and sparring this way. After all, he’d been so used to fighting Ronin (there’s still a shadow of a black eye the Dark Star had been kind enough to leave him with) that this felt almost serene.
Until it doesn’t.
His steel eyes watch her, body shifting ever so slightly as he expects her to throw another punch. But she doesn’t, her leg lifting as she kicks him right in the ribs. “Fuck.” A quiet huff leaves him as it smacks against him, a step taken back to try and get out of her range while she’s left open, stepping out and away from her leg to spin just enough to hopefully latch his leg around the one supporting her and drop her to the ground.
Until it doesn’t.
