will heaven step in?
After Noah's spar with Morgan, he felt invigorated. It had not been much, but the compliment he received from their Warden-once-Captain solidified his confidence for combat. He had been training throughout his life to hone the skills he could, but he truly relied on his will to survive and the skills he learned on the tundra. He was no warlord, no frontline battleman, but he could hold his own. Noah was unsatisfied with good enough, with holding his own. He needed to continue to hone his strengths and grow his weaknesses. Thus, he found himself in the training barracks again. His usual mode of operations took him over again as he stood on the sidelines, watching as others entered the ring and swung at each other. Soldiers littered the area. He knew some, and gave them gestures of greeting when it was appropriate. The hunter waited, despite their presence, for an opponent to come that he saw fit.

LOREN
Loren had been called into the training ground for an accident: someone hadn't dodged out of the way in time and took a blow to their shoulder. It had hurt, badly enough that they didn't want to transport the poor soldier. Since there was nothing else pressing, the healer had gone to the training ground instead.

A short burst of healing magic, a lecture on pulling blows, and a double checking of the injury later, and the Firebrand was done. Stretching, he regarded the training ground with a smile. Spotting a familiar face, he trundled over to Noah. "Hey. Didn't expect to see you here." Loren gestured around at their surroundings.

Noah watched the spar end badly, but kept his distance enough until Loren had healed the soldier. He could hear nothing of the small conversation that was had, but he guessed it had something to do along the lines of taking it easier because of the way the group of soldiers nodded and some even laughed, but they mostly seemed to be taking the Firebrand seriously.

As Loren turned to him and made his way across the training field, Noah nodded and smiled. "Never get a day off, eh?" The hunter jested, chin jutting towards the group Loren had just left. "The iceborn don't know when to quit." He laughed, eyes crinkling. He stretched his shoulders and rolled them back, surveying the area. "I've been spending more time here lately, trying to get better in combat."
