Aurelia almost forgot the point she intended to make from kissing him, the flirtatious joke that she punctuated it with, because for a moment all she wanted was to melt against him. Even if it was in the sand, again. That want, that lust darkened her gaze as she pulled back from him.
It was blinked away almost immediately, though, as they parted from each other and she softened the space between them with another joke. All smiles and laughter. She didn't think she'd ever smiled this much, not so readily and easily. She'd completely forgotten whatever it was she'd brought up earlier to dim the moment. Well, for now, but she'd hold him to the offer of help later on.
"Were you?" Her words dripped out almost precariously, eyeing him as he peered over at her. "I don't know, I thought we liked the beach?" She tilted her head and frowned thoughtfully down at the sand. Playfully, she smiled and stood up before he even could. Turned out, she was the one to help him up, saying, "Actually, I'd like that. If I have to spend one more night with a bunch of drunken sailors, I think I might just throw 'em all into the sea." A joke, of course. She'd never do that... or would she?
So they sorted the blankets and what remained of the meal before making their way back. Turns out the bottle was rather full, nowhere near empty.
