key quest

Isla 's tail strikes naught but air. Nate swoops in to do the smart thing and get Adam the actual fuck away from the creature, but by the time he places enough distance between he and it—that is, by the time his massive body manages to turn around—his turn is over, the monster has begun to flash.

Red light. Darkness. Red light. Darkness.

Clunk.

And that kids, is the story of how in not one, but two KQs, the boss fight was ended by the monster exploding itself. But what you're all wondering is did Adam die?

The answer is: he fucking should have. If not for Nate's draconic hands around his body, taking the brunt of the damage, Adam would have been toast. Bits of the monster fall down into the labyrinth where speaking squirrels hurridly pick them up and run away. In the distance, in the air as you all are, you can see the Spark Bird as it continues to decimate the barracks..
