"Humour?" I ask as he repeats bits of my own words back to me. I am not interested in the concept so much as whether or not I have correctly identified it. Humour seems unnecessary as it usually plays on ambiguities, things that are obvious, or things that are improper. Perhaps that is why I have never liked it. Perhaps that is why I have not laughed in centuries.
