AISHA
"Hellhounds, kind of like Deimos," Aisha was just finishing up her recount of her visit to the Climb and Angel's End to Elide, what she'd learned from Kova. Every now and then the hunters would meet and discuss, plans for the guilds hunts and observations. Today they'd done so on a walk, the streets of the inner citadel melting out into the agricultural and farming district of Snowcloak.

"Shit," came a frustrated voice nearby, Aisha followed the sound to an older woman at the end of the block. She stood in a small fenced in area, hands on her knees, cursing to herself as a hoard of white birds flocked from the coop. Aisha jogged closer, figuring Elide would follow. "Do you need help?" she offered to the old lady, who looked up with a surprised and weary expression.

"These damned birds are always getting the best of me," came a huffy laugh, a wave of her hand and the old woman came wobbling their way. Aisha smiled, hands on her hips and stable in her stance, friendly in expression. "I'd greatly appreciate a hand," she said, leaning against the fence and looking at the two Shields. Aisha nodded, "Of course," she glanced to Elide, realizing she'd spoken for the other woman, though she was almost sure the answer would be yes too.

Elide

Elide is content to listen to Aisha's recount of the Climb, ever always one to take an interest in someone's real-world experiences. They were valuable, after all, sometimes more valuable than anything you could learn from books. She tilts her head in Aisha's direction when there's an out-of-place pause, having enveloped her concentration in committing Aisha's words to memory and working on some sort of feedback in turn.

It's with a flurry of white feathers that their surroundings become sharper to Elide's vision, and she realizes it's caught Aisha's attention too. So she follows closely beside her friend, lifting her chin in agreement when help is offered. A small spark of amusement lightens her gaze as the elderly woman admits those damned birds always get the best of her. "They can be very smart when they want to be," Elide comments in agreement, and it's an easy nod of 'yes' when Aisha looks at her.

Before they go, however, Elide narrows her eyes thoughtfully and pulls Aisha aside, "This may be the most childish thing I've suggested in years, but... how about a little friendly competition?" She then notions toward the Ningos, a smile playing at her thin lips, "Whoever gets the most..." she begins to walk away, towards the ningos already, aiming for a head-start, "gets to choose our first hunt!"

Then she's off, giving way from her stoic stillness to the abandon of the game and her childhood memories, her hands stretching out to herd the little beasts together into her own flock.

AISHA
The older woman chuckled to Elide's comment and wiped her forehead with the back of her hand. And to their agreement to aid, she grins so wide it pushes her wrinkles aside and makes her look youthful again. "Why thank you sweethearts! Let me go take my quick rest, do let me know when you've finished," and with that the elderly woman stretched and waddled back to her porch. Aisha watched her sink into a feeble wooden chair, and suddenly the farmer woman looked very old again.

Aisha rolled up her white sleeves, prepared to get to work going after the birds, but was stopped. A hand grabbed the crook of her elbow, she looked up to meet her friend's gaze. A competition, there's excitement and a hint of surprise in the look Aisha shoots her back, "Deal." Determined not to let her fellow Shield's headstart get the best of her, Aisha shot forwards as well.

The birds squawked and wailed with the sudden movement, fluttering up before settling once more. Farmed ningo's had their wings clipped, they wouldn't be flying onto any buildings but they could jump and glide. Aisha reached for some as they flapped down to the ground, quick yet careful not to injure as she grabbed on to their down bodies.

Elide

Aisha's quick acceptance is all that needs be said, because now it's a competition - a challenge, and Elide can get behind that. Or ahead of it, perhaps. Her quickened pace stalls abruptly as she comes upon a small cluster of ningo hens. She makes no boastful cry, however, because she hasn't captured them yet.

One of the ningos spooks and glides off, to which the other two try to follow with a hivemind-like mentality. "Damn!" She blurts out before she can help herself.

Elide stoops forth to desperately weave her arms around one of them, only just managing to catch it. No harm is done, either, but it does squawk and flop clumsily about in protest. "You've had quite the adventure!" She tells it, attempting to make soft cooing sounds as she ushers it back to its coup.

As she passes by Aisha, she pauses to say with a smirk, "So did you think this would be our first challenge as monster hunters?"

AISHA
Aisha's few ningos squawk and flap against her as she grabs for them. For a moment she has two, grabbing to hold them by their legs as she's seen farmers do with chickens. It didn't work out entirely as planned, one of them squealed and beat it's white wings right against her face. Aisha screwed up her nose, trying to hold tight but letting it go, the bird fluffed up and glided to the ground, clucking suspiciously and giving her the stink eye.

Considering that tactic worked so poorly, Aisha took the one she still had a hold of and cradled it gently, looking over to see Elide doing the same. The other woman was so calm, cooing softly while Aisha quietly berated her own bird "Lil jerk face, yes you are," she teased, giving the white bird a quick stroke. Back into the coop it went, a gentle toss and the animal fluttered down into it's place. Elide's comment earned a bark of laughter, "In a way I should've known."

Elide

Elide has to smirk in amusement at Aisha's scolding of her hen, shooting her a glance as they return their singular catches. It would seem they're tied so far, and so Elide wastes little time lingering on the subject of monster-hunting ningos. Though Aisha's comment does garner a chuckle as she takes back to the twists and turns of the open streets, seeking out anything white and feathery.

She finds a cluster of the ningos, though she makes no announcement of this. No, she won't give away her advantage so quickly. Cooing softly to the small flock, she tries to work her way around them. Only they're too smart for that at this point and take off in all directions, puffing up and making little growly sounds as if in attempts to intimidate her away.

Unperturbed by this show of offense, Elide knows that they won't actually fight her. So as she steps towards a pair of them that appear to want to stay close together, she uses their fear to her advantage. She makes herself appear larger by spreading out her arms and towering over them. Eventually, though it requires patience, she manages to herd them back to the coup.

That's 2 for Elide!
