The boy sinks into his arms and Sunjata sighs again, readjusting his arms around the child, the sleeves of his shirt riding up and with the way Edmund is resting against his chest now, it pulls at the collar of his shirt to show more wounds that span down his chest. “Why would he? He doesn’t have to know.” Sunjata offers as he tries to focus on both not dropping the child and following Maeve as she just simply begins to step away.
It isn’t really how he’d planned his day to go. “Make up some story about how he went off on an adventure or something.” Did it really matter? And if Locke was gone for long enough, there’d be that chance that the boy wouldn’t even remember his father. It’s a fact Sunjata wishes he had when it came between having a father or having none at all.
