Sah

Things had settled somewhat after the monster attack. Sah's wounds had healed but the bite to his shoulder had scarred. The damaged wall had been mostly repaired, but there were still some debris spread around the Citadel. Stretching, Sah eyed the rubble with mild annoyance. After a pause he decided that it was too cumbersome too let remain in the street.

Acquiring a shovel, Sah began to force the debris and rubble into a pile. Getting it all piled together would hopefully make it easier to remove. As to where to put it after, Sah wasn't sure just yet. Some of the metal scarps could be melted down but the broken stone chunks were likely useless. He'd have to figure it out later but for now he returned to shoveling the rubble.

Things had gotten exciting! Well, very tragic yes but exciting! Tray couldn't remember the last time he'd been so very afraid and, at the same time, so enamored with what was going on around him. This was the stuff of legends! These were the times that were sung about and just to witness them was thrilling, granted Tray had hidden himself away as his meager telepathy wouldn't do much in protecting those around him but to be alive!

Now, though, there was a lot of work to be avoided, more than was usual especially around the house where his brothers invariably found him despite his best efforts to the contrary. So here he was, wandering the cold streets avoiding clean up efforts in the immediate vicinity of his house. The trick with avoiding work in public was that you needed to look as if you were so busy as to not be bothered by anyone but not so busy as to doing any actual labor. Also, not having to lie outright and allowing others to set the lie up for themselves was also a plus. What that looked like for Tray in this moment was a hand shovel he'd taken from home and an armful of blank rolls of paper, he hoped that he'd be taken for a city official taking stock of the damage. To really drive the point home he'd stop every so often and make it appear as if he were taking notes on his paper, in reality he was simply sketching scenes he found interesting.

This was how he found himself at the ruined wall, engrossed in his sketching while some poor sop made all sorts of racket, grating the shovel through the rubble, absolutely not conducive to a creative atmosphere. Tray tried clearing his throat a few times before finally resorting to making obvious sighs of frustration.

Sah

Sah had to stifle his smirk as some random guy drawing kept clearing his throat. Lilly, who had been curled up to relax was relaying the image through their bond. The wolf was equally amused by the man and his endeavor to appear productive. Once the man began to be obviously frustrated, Sah couldn't resist and chuckled, "If me cleaning is bothering you, go draw somewhere else."

Although his voice was amused, there was a tinge of annoyance as well. Sah had nearly died just a few days ago and now some guy was annoyed that he was trying to repair the damage from the attack. It spoke volumes of the stranger's character, none of it good. Lilly too, who was still concealed was a bit peeved. She sent Sah an image of her biting the man's ankles to drive him off, and he was nearly tempted to give her the 'go ahead'.

The completely accurate accusation, so blatantly voiced, jarred Tray out of his focused sketching. Opening his mouth he went to speak but, now actually present and taking notice of his surroundings, noticed the wolf curled up near by and did a small double-take while simultaneously taking two quick steps sideways.

"Mmmmm yes, well," Tray glanced at the wolf again, "If you would maybe stay still a moment I can just finish these last details, umm I'm sorry but isn't that going to attack me? Shouldn't we escape or something?" As jarring as the man seeing through his ruse was it wasn't nearly as off-putting as the wolf lounging so close. Tray had seen his share of wolves but they'd all been wild and not as calm as this one appeared to be, after opening his mouth though and having a second to think about it, it occurred to Tray that it might be this man's pet or something? Even given that welcoming thought it was a large animal and the monster attack was still very fresh in Tray's memory.

Sah

Sah smirked at the man's unease around Lilly, "Relax. She's mine." He put the shovel down and sat on one of the larger rubble chunks as Lilly sent amusement through their bond. The wolf stood up and stretched, making her way over to Sah's side before sitting down and leaning into his leg. All the while, the wolf eyed Tray with blatant mirth, blatant for a wolf that is. Sah reached down and ruffled her ears as he glanced at Tray with a raised brow, "Haven't you ever met a companion before?"

Sah eyed the man for a moment before smirking once more. "Nice drawings by the way. Not bad. But why the hell did you choose this place to do it?" He waved an arm towards the bits of rubble, flinching slightly as it aggravated his still healing shoulder. That monster had left quite a bad bite on him. Even when treated with healing magic, the fresh scars were still tender.

"This is literally where the attack was and where repairs need to be done. Why would you have come here hoping for quiet?" Sah shook his head in exasperation, making a shooing motion with one hand while he stood up to resume cleaning. "Seriously though, either help me or leave." With that, the Abandoned fully returned to removing rubble and debris from the street, ignoring Tray's presence or lack thereof.

The Abandoned continued to clean up the damage left by the monster until the sun had nearly set. Tired but satisfied with his work, he finally called it quits for the day and headed home with Lilly.
