He refuses her demand, not yelling, not getting angry - just... shaking his head. It pulls down any wall she might've put up to save herself, but she doesn't know if this is much better than what she was preparing for. She's not sure what she prefers either; this, or anger.
The exasperation he feels reflects back at him in her own expression, her shoulders slumping down and her hands going down at her sides in defeat. "Put a pin in it," she repeats in disbelief, eyes glazing over with tears. But she gets it. She does, as hard as it is. Being that it's such a difficult pill to swallow, she turns herself away from him, mumbling, "Sure. Talk about it later..." and though it feels like she's ripping out her own heart, she leaves, wiping her face as she heads for Haulani.
