From being an Abandoned who had rarely left the Hollowed Grounds, to embracing the call of adventure, to dying and being reborn first as an Ascended and then as an Ancient, Maea has gone through quite the amount of changes in her life. One thing remains common, though, in her attempts to find out just where she belongs; she’s always had a craving for knowledge which has brought her to so many places and to meet so many people here in Caido. We can’t wait to see what else is in store for her!

Wessex is more prepared to dodge than stop and talk, and even as sky!Ronin stills and Nate appears outside of the tower, she’s cautious, and keeps the Minokawa circling above them as a buffer. We could still probably take him, she murmurs to Nate, I’m at full strength again.
Aloud, however, she yells back up at the sky, “Haven’t you done enough?! Six Ascended murdered over the years by either Safrin or the Order’s hand and you pretend our anger isn't justified. Clem. Rexanna. Robin. Gideon murdered Sam last night, Evelyn two years ago, and tortured Mabel to death’s door. Cian killed Lily, and would have killed more if given the chance. Used as fucking dragon bait. The Order supports murderers and you'd be doing the same thing if you were in our shoes - only you'd have done it earlier.”
So if they're going to start fighting again, let all Team Old God's sins be laid out plain and clear as day before them. They aren't here just for shits and giggles, they're here to even the score.

“You mean the hospital you just blew starbolts at!?” Arms, both holographic and not, gesture wildly around Nate, a note of screechy rage in his voice. “You don’t give a shit about these people! You’re fucking scared, coward!” An accusing finger jabs out at Ronin, followed by two more, just for emphasis. “And you should be!”
No matter the words though, there was still the slight logistical issue of Ronin being almost two full Hollywood signs above them. And maybe it’s just because he currently has a stolen dragon sitting just under his skin, but this really seems like an issue that can be solved with a dragon. Lets go get him. Nate growls silently, shifting as soon as the words are shared and offering a claw out to Wessex. Two for one ass kicking, ready to be delivered right to Ronin’s face. Great wings beat to gain them height, lightning loosed the second Nate thinks he’s in range of Huntsman.
Nate snarks and shifts into a dragon, giving Wessex the option to ride him up to Ronin’s level. Once he’s within range or as high as he can go, he will use the lightning breath

How the fuck do you know, you were inside, Ronin would have yelled at Nate if it would have made any difference. He feels his heart sink as the demigods below him posture and sling their arrows and accusations, and he lets out a shivering sort of sigh. Alright then. "I wasn't trying to say that those things didn't happen. I wasn't trying to say that you couldn't bring your fight to me if you want blood. Only that here isn't the place. Innocent people don't deserve that."
But they're off, they're fighting, and Ronin tries to direct the fucking dragon away from the already broken Tower, if that's how it's going to be. "Some doctor you turned out to be," he grates under his breath. Three bolts of starlight crackle to life around him once the dragon is in range, Ronin firing them off directly at Nate. And once that's done, he promptly switches places with his projection so he might relay what's happening to those still protecting the hospital.

On the contrary, Wessex thinks this is the perfect place. Symbols and homes mean something - even giant, phallic ones. She choke-laughs at the insistence that “No one brought the fight to me when they wanted blood. They took it out on our innocent instead and everyone in the Order is guilty.” Actual blood on their hands or not, they support the murderers and their cause and are therefore just as bad by association - but she will offer them some time because she isn’t a monster. “Get the patients out, but one way or another, this Tower is coming down.”
As Ronin fires starbolts at Nate again, she directs her summoned Minokawa to take a hit for the dragon before teleporting to the top of the Tower, where if she has time, she’ll shoot lasers at sky!Ronin’s wings in an attempt to render them useless.

Little bit of talky-talk. Wessex directs her summoned Minokawa to take one of the starbolts meant for Nate. If it does, it will disappear and if it doesn't, it will disappear anyway because she teleports to the top of the tower (out of range) and if she has time, will try to tear through sky!Ronin's wings with her lasers.

Well that's decided.
Nate flies up, blasting electricity into the sky. He's too far from Ronin just now, but it's a daunting display just the same. Ronin 's starbolts sizzle down towards the dragon, striking him squarely and dousing the square below in light. It's rather pretty, were it not completely murderous Wessex 's Minokawa is too late to deflect the damage from Nate, but as she appears at the top of the Tower amidst rubble and dragon-urine, her Angry-Eyes cut through the floating demigod (or appear to), removing the projections ability to attack.

Oh, he hurts now. Well, figuratively. Some niggling voice in the back of Nate’s head that is not the ceaseless whining of his sensors tells him he will not last through another barrage, and the louder, angrier voice that sounds like him screams back that he will go down fighting then. So… that’s decided.
Without anyway to know if this is the real Ronin or not, Nate doesn’t change course. Beating wings carry him higher, another blast of lightning aimed at the Huntsman, and if he can Nate wants to crash right into the other man, wants to tear him out of the fucking sky and devour him.
Nate blasts lightning at the Fake Ronin and tries to smash into him!

He's lost the whisper of an ace in the hole, but Ronin takes that on the chin to spend another few seconds breathing. His astral projection beats its wings hard, directing itself up and attempting to dodge out of the way of Nate's breath and bulk. And while it stages its mid-air dance, within the Tower the real Ronin gets to work.
"I don't know how long it will take, but there are two Ascended demigods out there determined to tear this Tower down," he calls to anyone in the right state of mind to listen. "Whoever can leave needs to, right now." As he speaks his hand presses to one of the constellations on his forearm; summoning Virgo, he attempts to heal himself a little from Nate's previous barrage of fists.
Ronin's projection tries to dodge out of the way of Nate! The real thing calls a warning to people on the ground floor, and summons Virgo for a brief bout of healing.

Shackles of the Virgin: Summons the Virgo Constellation for one post. The constellation is semi-transparent and appears as a beautiful celestial figure. May heal at a Basic level. Exists as a constellation-tattoo when not in use, but manifests in golden shackles when used.
Physically wincing as Nate takes the starbolts again, Wessex has to say just oneeeeee more thing about sticking around and dying. DON’T YOU FUCKING MAKE ME TAKE YOUR DEAD ASS BACK TO JATA AND YOUR FAMILY CAUSE I WILL KILL YOU AGAIN WHEN YOU COME BACK IF I HAVE TO DO THAT. And that’s it. Promise. If guilt and lover boy can’t get him to have some sense then nothing will.
So the Tower can wait for now - and after all, she’d given them time to get out.

With a movement of 30ft per turn, Nate is still too far away to smash into Ronin (real or otherwise). His lightning breath reaches far enough now and with the projection unable to dodge out of the way, indeed hits. Only...huh. There should probably be the smell of burning or charred flesh, shouldn't there?
Inside Ronin alerts the medical staff, but there are other people who live in the Tower, aside from those on the medical floor. It won't be so easy to get them out, especially with the door blockaded and dragon fire outside. Healing light pours around the demigod, restoring a bit of his health.
It's interesting indeed to watch demigods paired up against one another this way. Despite having been hit by Nate 's blast (and even with her advantage), astral!Ronin is able to dodge Wessex (though not by much).
Screams come from inside of the tower. Those within their upper apartments seek ways to exit, while those on the hospital floor (i.e., the ground level) try and debate between finding another way out, or removing the rubble from the door. That said, outside doesn't seem much safer, from their perspective.

Guess you better cover me then? Nate growls back, honestly not even sure if his thoughts can reach Wessex when he’s like this. He can hear her though, and it clears his head enough for him to pin his wings back down – no point in going after something that won’t bleed – and drop towards the ground again.
His plan is… stupid. It’s not even an idea, let alone a plan, though Nate hasn’t run on anything but first thought since he walked into an alley having heard half a pitch and gone I’m in. First step? Get on the ground. Easy. Hopefully.

Nate dives for the ground and Ronin reacts before his mind can properly catch up. Within the Tower he's still trying to direct people out - through windows mostly, given that he's barricaded them in (oops). But the medical staff have this very much in hand, unsurprisingly, and he's free to concentrate on the more urgent matter outside.
He switches place with his projection in the sky and no sooner is he present, three starbolts crackle to life and spear down towards the descending dragon, hoping to end one rampage if nothing else. His track record isn't great - a fact that the writer of this post is hilariously aware of - but hey, what does he have to lose?

Cover him. Okay, well - that leaves her with two options: literal cover or finally getting starboy to engage with her, instead of the dragon. Easy, right?
Hoping that Nate is able to get out of range quickly enough, Wessex lets loose a biopulse in an attempt to disorient the Huntsman before physically going after him again. The giant metal bird comes for him mid-air again, talons and beak reaching for anything she can grab on to. If she’s able to get a hold of sky!Ronin, she will try to pull him higher, and if not, she'll try to end up somewhere below him.

Nate dives and Ronin does what any predator, vengeful demigod, weary Huntsman, (etc etc) would do, and fires...
..and hits. (We have the receipts). Dragonscales will fall away from Nate as he falls, leaving just a (mostly) lifeless body.
Wessex will find that only her integrated upgrades (that is, those that don't require intentional control), don't work while shifted. So it is that the mechbird descends like some deadly bit of scaffolding to place herself between Ronin and Nate's body.
