Around them the lush gardens begin to become dotted with beautiful statues and other, more organised topiaries, and fireflies and lanterns herald the shrine in the distance. Ronin allows himself a smile before turning back to the women beside him, nodding between them both.
"Every one I have seen has been very difficult to get," he confirms, "including the one that was at the bottom of the Maw. But we did manage to recover it. I wouldn't recommend going down there, though, not to anyone who might get ideas."
Wrinkling his nose at the memory, Ronin winds to a halt at the beginnings of the shrine proper. "There was a stone monster in Hak Etme, and a basilisk in the Oerwoud. And the huge dinosaur under the Sea of Glass. None of them have been anything like easy."
