Tal glowered down at the table in front of him, ears growing uncomfortably warm. "'M not gonna plant an orchid there or anythin' du-delicate," he mumbled, amending his words at the last moment but stung that Evie thought he was so stupid (or so he interpreted her well-meaning words). Sure, he hadn't gotten out of Halo much before this year, but he was a quick enough study when it came to surviving his deliveries.
His fingers trailed along the table until a sharp prick made him wince and then blink in surprise as he lifted the hardy little pot with its somewhat wilted and depressed-looking cactus that was not having a good time in the humid swamp. "Somethin' like this would work!"
Pale eyes followed Deimos's attention and he nodded slowly. "Mm... yeah, could always use more variety. Maybe some of those bean-lookin' things?"
