His eyes went to Talyson’s cactus, and the spread of seedlings still on the table. What took all his attention off everything else was the sudden quip made by Evie about the youths – visible confusion contorting his features into arched brows and widened eyes and mouth slightly agape as he looked back and forth between courier and advisor. Had he been missing something…And then down at Evie, with a small smile hinting at a joke.
He sighed as he began to be pulled away, which was fine, he had other business to attend to, but something curled with apprehension in the back of his spine. He ended up grabbing a handful of seeds and stuffing them along his pocket, eyes flickering to the outskirts where the rest of the guild would be waiting to hunt swamp rats. With a snort and a shake of his head, the Sword nodded towards Talyson, hopefully breaking over what was doomed to be a petulant, pouting fixture. “See you later.”
