DARKEYE
Darkeye is cutting a board when one of the tendrils from the gourds slashes across the board. Darkeye's gaze darkens as the land has already been through enough. Why did the country now? He wanted to help and now this. He grabbed his axe and it was then like with the land sharks. No hesitation, otherwise people come to harm. It was unusual that they dared to come so close to the city, especially at this time of year. So he hit the gourd with the axe and would not allow what they have invested so much time for would already be brought down.

Noah
we follow our own steps
while our shadows keeps watching us
Dealing with these seasonal invaders was not what Noah wanted to do today. He wanted to finish working on the platform and head home. He was ready to see the snow of Halo I once more, let alone be closer to Cordelia. It was harder being away from her now than it ever had been before.

Nonetheless, their work was compromised. Growling and baring bear teeth in a feral display of annoyance, Noah ignited his magic. A celestial dome covered all of those gathered for construction. They would feel renewed vigor in their bones and the fatigue fall from their muscles. The gourds, on the other hand, would feel the opposite.

Noah growls at the gourd coming for him then uses his mastered magic!

Magic: Divine Opposition | Noah summons a celestial shield dome in a 60ft radius. Any allies within the shield receive Mastered Healing, and any enemies are damaged at an Mastered level. May be used 3x per thread with a two post cool down.

DEIMOS
The sound of iron shots is stuck in my head
The thunder of the drums dictates
The chaos descended in gnashing teeth and low growls, and the group hastened away with force and vitriol of their own – not unexpected, given the people involved. The Sword took a moment to utilize his Mastered Air, shooing away a multitude into different directions as if they’d been merely tossed by the wind, muffling a threat of rumbled laughter as some flew into the nearby water, or into a far reaching bush. As Sah used his own elemental particles, the gourd was swiftly crushed without so much as a fleeting glance, its vines and tendrils flattened, the remains of it splattered (but could still be used for baking goods later, perhaps).

While Ophelia might not have had the strength and dominion as the others, they expertly wielded the board as a bat, making direct contact and ensuring the creature’s last battle-cry became nothing more than bits and pieces of broken rind. From there though, the success dwindled slightly; Darkeye wielded his axes to no avail, missing, snagging at the ground instead.

And Noah, somehow, someway, summoned power and might and strength, only to be distracted enough by the ankle-biter striving to gnaw its way through his boot, that he managed to circumvent it entirely.

Eventually though, they all won out in the end – and Deimos heaved somewhat of a sigh at the state of things. Incurring another breath and shaking his head, he knew they needed to persist and carry on, especially if they wanted things to end sooner rather than later. “Okay. I think we can continue,” and then the rest could resume their work, hopefully without future interruptions.

--

Thanks to quick actions and dice rolls, the group can continue working (mind the vampire gourd guts strewn about – maybe someone can pick ‘em up and use them for pie later). Assume the previous work from the past rounds are about half-finished.

Finish up either working on the top platform, or the stairs! No post order! Please include a brief summary at the bottom of your post!

Sah grinned ferally when the gourd burst with a splat. There was something pleasing about how efficient that kind of maneuver was. Using his air and telekinesis, he cleared the guts out of his way and returned to working on the stairs. The hammered and nailed the pieces together by hand, taking care to ensure that each stair was secure before he moved onto the next.

The Abandoned continued building, only pausing to grab more supplies. He was determined to make up for the time that they lost dealing with the gourds. Granted, they weren't too badly behind. But the point still stood.

Noah
we follow our own steps
while our shadows keeps watching us
Annoyed by how ineffective his magic seemed to be in the moment, Noah lifted his boot to smash down at the gourd that was bothering him. His jaw tightened and set against itself, and he felt the top corner of his lip below his nose wrinkling in a hint of a snarl. He wanted to get this work done, leave the Grounds, and not think about it again for a while. Grumbling as their assailants finally ended their rampage due to the efforts of those gathered, Noah set back to work. There hadn't been much accomplished before the onslaught of the autumn fiends, but Noah worked to continue what he had started.

Noah continues to work on the platform.

Ophelia grins at the pumpkin guts strewn about, and though they've only recently adjusted to human hunger over the course of one year, they definitely catch on quickly to the fact that these remnants would be great for later. Shuffling some larger portions aside while the others dispatch their own enemies, the ghost returns just in time for Deimos to determine they're safe to continue. It's not nearly as fun as killing gourds, but Phi hadn't exactly expected excitement when signing up for physical labor.

Continuing with the task they'd already had - the stairs - Phi spares a quick small smile for their partner in the task (Sah , though they don't know his name) and begins nailing the outer framing of the stairs once more.

- - -

Phi sneaks some pumpkin corpses aside to take home later and goes back to working on the stairs.

DARKEYE
After this incident, Darkeye grabbed his tools again and went back to work. He still wondered how or why the pumpkins were here. It had just been weird. He looked around to see if the others had made it without getting hurt. They all seemed to be fine. He measured the stairs again and set about finishing them as quickly as possible. It should be a clean job. But it was time to finish the job here. Whether the people from the grounds would appreciate this at some point remains to be seen.

DEIMOS
The sound of iron shots is stuck in my head

Through the flickering of gourd guts and the churning of work, it eventually came together. Sah, Ophelia, and Darkeye worked together to ensure the stairs were perfected – structurally sound, even with the haphazard wake of pumpkin innards occasionally strewn about. The platform manifested itself well too, along with Deimos and Noah’s strength adhering to the task, and after a series of moments, they’d all be able to take a step back, and be proud of their work.

The Sword did just the same, eyes roaming over the wooden frames and figures, analyzing and scrutinizing, before nodding to all of them with the crook of his grin. “We have done well. All we have left are the railings.” Some for the safety of the above platform, some for the stairs. Pointing to the timber already laid out before them, the team would be able to select their accompanying tools and tasks for one last piece of labor.

The second platform and stairs have been completed! This is the last round: place railings on either the stairs/platform.

DARKEYE
Darkeye just nods when Deimos mentions this and starts measuring again to make a railing for the stairs. It should be simple and stable. He could take his time later to decorate it. Or the people who come by here could do it. "I'm for when this is over we go to the pub and celebrate this with a good whiskey or something else. You don't build something like this every day. I would be happy if you accompany me" He said calmly as he took the measurements again and wrote them down with a lead pencil. He measured again and then went to the saw. He wanted to make sure it was stable and held. Later he would maybe add some pulleys to carry heavier loads or even some kind of elevator. With a lot of winches and weights, he could build something. But first, this had to be finished.

REady to be done. REady to be done. Ready to be done. The feeling nearly overwhelmed the demigod as he worked, brow damp with sweat even in the moderate temperatures of Leafchange. Keeping his head down and his nose to the grindstone, the Sentinel worked alongside the Sword dutifully. Finally, in the wake of gourd innards and seeds and the smell of their flesh clogging the air, they finished the platform and the stairs.

Stepping back with Deimos to inspect their work, Noah stayed quiet. Though, in the back of his mind, he remembered when they had nearly completed the platform in Halo and the ningos had taken over. Noah scared them off as a bear, but also found weakness in the boards that they had to repair. He chuckled some, and silently relayed the memory to Deimos. Maybe you should test the strength with one of your shifts he jested.

But there was no time for that. They were so close to the finish line. Taking up beams and nails and a hammer, Noah set to work on establishing a safety rail along the platform.

They can almost taste the finish line. It has been a hard two days, and they no longer have the benefit of being immune to exhaustion and other human ailments. Sufficiently reminded of their rather pitiful stature, Ophelia wipes the sweat from their brow and takes a brief moment to regain their breath before starting on the next - and hopefully final - task.

Noah and Deimos had been working together seamlessly so far, and the remaining trio had as well, so Ophelia saw no reason to shake up the system this far in the game. Alongside Darkeye, the ghost begins to affix the bases of the rail system to the stairs, testing each with their hand to ensure they had minimal wobble for when the handrail was installed.

It's been a massive undertaking but they're almost there. Grabbing the last of the supplies, Sah sets out to finish the railings on teh platform. He tests them as he goes, ensuring that each piece is solid and strong before moving onto the next one. If someone fell, a failed railing would make it all the worse.

As he works, he considers what other areas still lacked a Skyport and if it would be worthwhile to have them made. Connecting more of Caido had its benefits, but it also had the potential to be another tool against them. Another entryway for enemies to reach their targets. Shaking his head, Sah tries to banish that train of thought, reminding himself that the war was over.

Another round of steadfast determination ensured the railings were completed: from stairs to platform, raised high and along, unyielding as they tested out perimeters and parameters. A jovial grin managed to manifest itself along his features once they seemed complete – from Darkeye’s suggestion to Noah’s idea, half-tempted -

Just to be sure.

I will take you up on that was a distinct murmur, not permitting the escape of the Attuned bond to go any further; in case foolishness persisted and he crashed through. Even if such a burden were to take place, the Sword would make sure to stay behind, repair and rebuild where the wakes had been cast in broken segments.

But since this was all purely hypothetical...he started forward.

Deimos
the resurrected sword
The largest shift would probably be the bakunawa, but untrained and unversed in its status, he presided quietly into shifting amidst the grizzly proportions. Massive, strong, and enduring, it would have the fortifications to test out an entire range of weights – likely enough to compel multiple skyboats and their passengers.

Taking a deep breath, hands became paws, and the rest of his frame altered and changed thereafter. The bear roamed forward, listening for any creaks, any cracks, any disturbances in the wooden frame below, or the lane of stairs. He even glanced towards Noah, intending a modest shrug through his huge shoulders as the world beneath him remained upright, solid, and sure.
and oh, poor atlas
the world's a beast of a burden
