it's just a spark, but it's enough to keep me going
Reddish bark hung like old skin from the trees in Ludo's Woods. The texts from the Undercroft had described the forest as a home for the lost souls of the Fae, and Sohalia now roamed the trees with a great deal of reverence and a splash of curiosity. Small, twisted saplings sprouted from the ground all around her, looking for all the world like children bowing before their parents. Lanterns hung from their boughs; according to the texts she'd read, the lanterns were meant to guide the dead to Ludo, the herald of Mort.

The gods were still an oddity to Sohalia, who had had limited interactions with them. Indeed, now that she had begun to roam the world, she found that there was much she did not know about the world in which she lived. It was this knowledge - or lack thereof - that drove her now to travel. She hoped to visit other places in Caido than the Greatwood just as soon as she was able, but there was so much to see and do here first. How was she to see everything? She felt that it would be impossible.

It really came down to whether she wanted to see more of less, or less of more. And she wasn't quite sure which she would prefer.

Sohalia wandered among the trees and, upon finding a flat, grassy spot beneath the boughs of one of the larger trees of the forest, spread her skirts to sit gracefully among the roots. There, she pulled a book from the satchel she carried on her shoulder and began to read.
and when it's dark out, no one's around; it keeps glowing
