Edmund had scouted at a building and posted a notice. Now he stands at the entrance to an old building in Haulani, waiting to see who arrives. He hopes that a decent amount of people will show up. This endeavor cuts into his quest time a bit but it'll be worth it.  Around him are carts filled with supplies. Bricks, stone, mortar to mix, tools, etc. On a table in front lies a blueprint that has the plan set up. There are fresh windowpanes, roof tiles, and a new wooden door to install as well.

There are quite a few things to get done outside of repairing the building itself. A library needs to be built. An office for himself, a kitchen, an armory, and a place to gather. For now, they need to repair.

As people arrive, he calls out, "Hello! I'm Edmund. Thank you so much for coming. we have a lot to accomplish. Everyone, take a look at the blueprints and let's get started."

1. Edmund
2. Sohalia
3. Talyson
4. Harper
5. Soleil

Round 1! No post order. Edmund will take what's left.

1. Mix the mortar and start laying it with stone to repair the entryway.

2. Mix the mortar and start laying it with bricks to repair the rest of the building.

3. Replace the windows with new ones.

4. Repair the roof with new tile.

5. Replace the door with a new one.

Sohalia
This is a gift, it comes with a price
Who is the lamb and who is the knife?
One thing that Soh was not very good at was finding distractions from her troubles. So when she heard about an Adventurer's Guild, she immediately set off to find out more. She'd been a bit nervous about going to Haulani, not wishing to run into Jude and make it seem like she wasn't giving him the space he'd requested, but in the end, she wasn't sure that this was the kind of thing that would attract her boyfriend (?), so it seemed worth the risk.

Especially if it could distract her.

She arrived with a smile on her face and in clothes that she didn't mind getting dirty. "Hello, Edmund," she said cheerfully. "I'm Sohalia. Just tell me where you need me." It looked like there were a variety of tasks to be completed, so as others arrived, she meandered over to the mortar. Replacing stones seemed like something she could do, so she knelt to mix the mortar and, without further ado, began trying to lay stones.

Zeus has crafted you from clay and gold
Soleil is already on a long-term adventuring project, so an adventuring guild? Sign her up!

She arrives bright and early, curls wrangled into a ponytail that has no less volume and which strains readily against her hair tie, a backpack slung over one shoulder and outfitted in frayed shorts and a crop top that shows off plentiful brown skin in the Torchline autumn heat.

She brightens even further when the young man heading the affair is recognizable, as is the blonde at his side. "Hey, you were in the Greatwood! Good job with all those wisps!" she compliments readily with a smile fit to beat the sun. "I'm Soleil. It's nice to meet you properly! You're really cute," she offers in a manner that isn't exactly flirtatious, infused instead with confidence and certainty that is far too friendly to be anything simpering or coy. Turning then to Sohalia with a bright grin, she bumps shoulders with the young woman on the way to depositing her backpack to the side.

"If you're already working with the mortar, I'll tackle the rest so it doesn't dry out too much." That way they won't have to re-mix it or worry about wasting any. Setting to work cheerily, Soleil wonders how promising this guild will turn out to be.

He'd just finished dropping off a delivery for Flora when he'd caught sight of an almost-familiar cloud of black hair disappearing around a corner. Boreal had immediately taken off after it and Tal had, perforce, followed, eventually catching up outside the door(?) of a new establishment filled with familiar faces.

"Sol! How's the explorin' goin'?" he asked totally casually and not at all like a concerned friend frenemy of her father's. He looked around the project Soleil dived into and chewed his lip, thinking hard. Adventurer's guild, huh? Well...

But she wasn't the only friendly face. "Hey, Soh!" he called, surprised and pleased to see his dear friend so far from home. Boreal let out a rumbling croon and trotted over to peer into the mortar bucket and then bump her head affectionately against Sohalia 's thigh.

"An', uh... Edmund, right?" he nodded with more reservation to the horned young man who seemed to be involved in yet another construction project. The boy sure was busy, and he was getting around, but he seemed nice enough. And he'd drawn in a pretty high-class crowd of helpers so far, if Tal did say so himself.

"Figure I can fix up a new door," he offered a touch gruffly. Spending the time would let him get more of a feel for this new guildmaster, at least, and see if Sol would decide to stick around with him. He headed over to the hammers, nails, and wooden planks and put his own woodworking skills to good use in sanding and constructing a new door for the place.

There are far too many fresh young faces about for Harper not to be worried. Of course he’s automatically ready to involve himself (if on the down low) the moment Edmund returns home and makes it clear he intends to start a guild, but when he arrives and sees no truly trustworthy (or at least locally based) adult in sight well…

Harper strides towards the group with a beaming smile, refraining from squeezing Edmund’s shoulder until the tasks have been doled out so he doesn’t ruin the kid’s building street cred by doing it in front of his new guild members. Waving jauntily at Talyson and emanating warmth toward Sohalia through the Attuned bond, Harper sets about on the last task of replacing the windows -

All while keeping keen eyes and ears on the gaggle of younger guild members, because he suspects he will need to.

Edmund greets his new guildmates with a small smile before they all got to work. Soleil is a surprisingly familiar face and as she showers him with compliments, the young Ancient turns bright red, "Ah..thank you?" Talyson gets a nod and Harper a side-hug. Forget street cred, Edmund has missed his family.

The work begins and things quickly turn...interesting. Sohalia has little trouble with the mortar and stone and the entryway is efficiently repaired. Soleil's attempts at help end up making a mess. She accidently knocks over a pile of bricks and they fall onto Talyson's door, breaking it. Harper has similar luck to Soleil and drops a window, shattering glass near the entryway.

With the amount of chaos, Edmund realizes that he can't exactly repair the roof until the walls are sound. As such, he turns around and helps Soleil and Sohalia. With the three of them working together the entryway and walls are repaired successfully and the fallen bricks are used up.

The guild regroups and Edmund eyes their surroundings with some amusement. He can't be mad or disappointed, he's just worried if everyone's ok. "Did anyone get hurt?" With confirmation that his guildmates were safe, he hands out the next tasks. "Let's try that again.

Round 2! No post order. Edmund will take what's left.

2. Clean up Talyson's broken door.

And now Harper was joining in? ...Well, Tal gave him a little wave and a weak smile, not sure whether he should be happy to no longer be the only adult in the room, or even more worried about the survival instincts about the group as a whole.

Definitely the latter, as it turned out. He'd been almost done with the door, and it was a pretty solidly alright door, if he did say so himself. The lumber in Torchline was a little softer than he was used to working with - he wouldn't want to make sled runners out of it, certainly - but it would be more than sufficient for a door that was properly cross-braced. He was just about to put the finishing bracing on when a pile of bricks fell onto the nearly-finished portal while he'd been lifting it and snapped the central boards under their weight.

The courier tensed, molars grinding as his jaw locked and his fingers tightened white-knuckled around his tools. He lifted a beetle-browed glare towards the culprit, but upon seeing Soleil he found himself swallowing back the grouchy snarl on the tip of his tongue. Sure, she looked old enough to know better, but he still couldn't stop seeing the adorable brat who had been running around Snowcloak for the past couple of years. After a moment he released the pent-up breath in an annoyed huff, blowing his unruly mop of dark hair out of his eyes.

"...Never mind. I'll make a new one," he mumbled gruffly, going back to the pile of lumber and starting from scratch. At least this time he knew how the wood would act beneath sander and nails, and he used the experience to build an even better door the second time around.

Tal goes to make a new door, take two!

Sohalia
This is a gift, it comes with a price
Who is the lamb and who is the knife?
Fortunately for Soh, her attempts at mixing mortar and laying stones seemed to go well - particularly when one considered that she'd never done it before. In fact, it was somewhat relaxing work, so much so that she barely noticed the new arrivals - that is, until she heard her name and felt a bump against her thigh. Then she looked up to find Boreal by her side and Talyson and Soleil nearby. She offered them both a grin and a wave. "Hi guys!" she chirped cheerfully before slipping a piece of jerky to Boreal. She'd long since taken to keeping a few dragon treats on her person for just such a surprise encounter.

She was about to go back to her work when she felt a sudden rush of warmth through the Attuned bond and looked up to find that Harper had joined the fray as well. She felt a sudden surge or affection for her surrogate father, but they were all busy now, and there would be time for happy reunions later - even if it hadn't been so very long since she'd seen him.

The breaking of a door and the shattering of glass made Soh jump, but she was fortunately unharmed by either event. "I'll get this glass. Everyone watch where you step!" she warned. Sure, they might have shoes on, but it would just take a particularly large shard of glass to cut someone's foot!

"You're welcome!" she cheerily responds to Edmund, not at all phased by the crimson in his cheeks or his lackluster response. It makes him cuter if anything, bringing color to his otherwise ivory complexion. Talyson unexpectedly joining the crew makes Soleil brighten and swivel her attention swiftly to the courier's approach, unaware - for now - of the fact that he is tailing her. "It's going great! Perfect timing for this guild to start up, right?" Both her hands ball into little excited fists that swing at her sides, positively giddy over the fortuitous timing.

Perhaps a little too giddy, because she ends up ruining almost everything within minutes. Talyson is ironically one of the only ones directly harmed, making her wince and give perhaps a tiny touch of puppy eyes his way in hopes of inspiring his forgiveness. "Sorry! Sorry," she plaintively trails off, and is glad when the man's infamous temper (though certainly overblown by her father's biased accounts) does not rise up to snap at her.

In hopes of appropriately apologizing, she cleans up Talyson's ruined door while he makes a new one, her cheery mentality rising already with a bit of song humming in her throat as she works.

Harper can't help but beam when Edmund indulges him with a side-hug, squeezing the boy back immediately. Though he can't help but grin when the boy is then immediately flustered by a curly-haired girl he doesn't recognize - the only one he doesn't know, actually. But introductions can surely be made later. Right now there is work to be done!

Work that he apparently sucks at, though he'll blame dropping the window on being startled by the strange young woman knocking over bricks and destroying Talyson's door. Luckily few people saw it, right? Though Sohalia fairly points out the glass, making Harper wince and smile sheepishly. "I'll get that real quick," he offers, and sweeps up the discarded glass before grabbing a replacement window. Maybe the second time will be the charm?

Work continues and things mostly go to plan. Mostly. Talyson successfully builds and installs a door, one solid enough to hopefully withstand any stray bricks in the future. Sohalia' warning prevents any injuries and she successfully cleans up all of the glass. Soleil also has a successful cleanup and the remains of the initial door all but vanish. Harper....well the windows are just cursed apparently. He picks up a bit of glass before Sohalia finishes it up but when he actually goes to install the windows. Things go wrong. He gets all but one installed but the last one simply falls out and shatters.

With the base of the building finally built (minus a single window) Edmund is able to successfully repair and retile the roof. He winces at Harper and quickly checks that the man is unharmed. Thankfully, the Accepted is fine.

"Ok. We're making progress." Edmund gives a small grin, "Good job, everyone. Here's what's next." There's a sudden thumping noise from inside and the Ancient glances at the building worriedly, "And someone check that, please."

Round 3! No post order. Edmund will take what's left.
1. Clean up the glass and install the last window.
2. Sweep the interior of the building.
3. Clear out the old furniture and debris from the building.
4. Get rid of the cobwebs inside.
5. Investigate the sound!

Boreal accepted the jerky from Sohalia with a happy rumble, licking the treat daintily from the young woman's fingers before trotting around to help supervise the rest of the crew and stealing scritches where she could.

Tal nodded agreement to Soleil 's enthusiasm for the new guild with an attempt at an eager smile on his own face. 'Adventuring' sounded a lot like 'finding new and interesting ways to get killed' to the courier's pessimistic ears, but with so many of his younger friends joining in - and Harper, who wasn't younger or a friend yet but was too nice for Tal to let him get eaten by an ursur - he was slowly coming to terms with the fact that he was going to end up joining the guild anyways.

It all want to hail in a handbasket pretty quick, but Sol cleaned away the remains of the first door with such swift good cheer that Tal couldn't even stay mad. He set back to work, faster and more efficient, and got the door in place without further mishap. He was standing back to admire his work and pat himself on the back when Edmund returned with a new round of tasks. The courier looked towards the thumping sound with narrowed eyes and then reached down to grab one of Boreal's horns before she could bound after it.

Let one o' th'others handle that, he admonished her gently, figuring one of the more gung-ho guild members would enjoy a little adventurous investigating. "We can do some heavy lifitin'," he offered aloud, tugging his companion after him until she stopped resisting and gave a smoky huff of resignation.

With Boreal pushing with her broad head or setting her heavy jaws into chunks of wood and debris and tugging, and Tal pushing, pulling, or just plan carrying furniture out with her help or on his own, the two set about emptying the building of its former contents.

With the glass cleaned up and the outside of the building mostly repaired, Soh turned her attention to the interior. The windows seemed to be cursed, and she wasn't particularly eager to get involved in the last window's installation. After all, that seemed like a bit more heavy lifting than her slight frame was made for; no, she'd be of more use doing something like sweeping.

So she grabbed a broom and swept up the glass from the broken window before turning her attention towards the interior of the building. With brisk strokes, she tried to clean up quickly and efficiently, coming behind Talyson as heavy furniture was moved out of the way. The thumping noise caught her attention, but she certainly wasn't going to investigate it alone. Her previous experiences with the Ceffyl Dwr and, more recently, the ursur, had made her cautious. If someone else wanted to investigate, perhaps she would follow their lead.

Talyson may be too sensible and Sohalia too wary to go hunting down a strange noise in a vacant building, but Soleil?

Soleil is the perfect woman for the job.

With her cleanup job done and a far more interesting noise to be investigated, Soleil makes an interested noise in the back of her throat and goes trotting off into the depths of the building nearly before Edmund can finish his sentence. "I got it!" As if her eager pursuit isn't obvious enough to the group at large.

C'mon, isn't this the Adventurer's Guild? Where was the sense of adventure!

Soleil begins throwing open doors and looking in every crack and crevice she can find, intent on finding the source of the disturbance.
