From being an Abandoned who had rarely left the Hollowed Grounds, to embracing the call of adventure, to dying and being reborn first as an Ascended and then as an Ancient, Maea has gone through quite the amount of changes in her life. One thing remains common, though, in her attempts to find out just where she belongs; she’s always had a craving for knowledge which has brought her to so many places and to meet so many people here in Caido. We can’t wait to see what else is in store for her!

Sah
Halo had grown extensively in past seasons, and it had dawned on Sah that their small market could use an upgrade. There was a stretch of shops but not all artisans or craftsmen in Halo had a shop of their own. A few days prior the hunter had spotted an old run-down building in need of repair. Pushing the broken door away, he'd found a massive open floorplan. It was perfect. Vendors could set up small booths within and sell their wares indoors without having to maintain an individual shop.
Putting up a notice on the board, Sah spent the day gathering supplies and had set it out in front of the building. Hopefully help would come and Halo could build its own indoor market.

Always aiming to improve multiple situations throughout Halo, the notice gave enough pause, and ability to move his schedule around, for the Sword to meet at the run-down building. There were several more they could probably utilize in some substantial measure, but for now, this one was keen and capable of becoming an indoor section for the market, rather than leaving kiosks and stalls out in the impending Deepfrost cold.
Approving of the notions, he advanced towards Sah with a nod of his head. “This is a good idea,” with a slight smile to his mouth, eyes flickering back and forth at the chosen plot. There was a great deal of work to be done, which was typical, but not out of range for the hustle and bustle of Halovian citizens – eternally bound to difficult tasks and determined constitutions. Somewhat relieved he didn’t have to lead this expedition, he turned his gaze back to the fellow Abandoned. “How would you like to start?”
It didn't take long for Noah to catch word of Sah's intentions. Seeing the note on the notice board, Noah immediately turned and headed towards where it detailed they could meet. He approached and called out a generous hey and waved at Deimos as the warden eased closer to the dilapidated building.
Stepping inside on Deimos' heels, Noah shrugged some fallen snow from his shoulders and offered Sah the same bright, brilliant smile he had Deimos outside. Nodding eagerly with the Sword, Noah seconded his motion. This was a great idea. Perhaps they could, in the future, even continue to build on it and make an entire marketplace, totally shielded from the elements of the frozen world.

Sah
Sah grinned as Noah and Deimos arrived. Their clear support for his sudden project warmed him, "Thank you. With how steady things have been lately, it seemed like the perfect time." Caido would surely throw challenges their way in the future and using the brief peace to further develop their region seemed like a productive use of that time.
The Wild Thunder turned towards the building and gestured towards the carts of tools supplies beside it. Anything that they could possibly need was present. New window planes, wood for crafting, stone, and mortar to mix, just to name a few. "We need to start with repairing the exterior. There are a few holes in the walls, broken windows, and the old door could do with a replacement."

1. Repair the holes in the wall with mortar and stone.
2. Replace the broken windows with new ones.
3. Replace the door with a new one.
Nodding a greeting at both Noah, and the inclinations towards the indoor market, he waited for further instructions. The exterior, given how much it had likely gone through in the many years surviving within the Citadel, did need some work. Pondering through the list, the Sword settled on one in particular. “I can take care of the windows.”
Long strides swept along, grasping at necessary tools, before digging into the task itself. Gloves on, the Warden carefully and painstakingly stripped away window by window, intending on meticulous efforts in case the shattered ramparts had other ideas. Thereafter, if everything went successfully, he’d strive to create new glass with his Mastered incantations, matching it meticulously with the open portions.

Noah turned his body and looked around as Sah indicated everything that needed to be done. Well, at least the first section of repairs. He nodded along, and looked to Deimos. He was sure the man would take the most difficult of jobs, that his magic would aid them. After Deimos chose his place, Noah did so as well, "I will help patch holes in the walls." Which should be easier than patching holes in the Citadel wall, right?
Noah hoped so.
Gathering his supplies, his companions settling down until they were called upon, he set to work. Noah mixed the thick mortar for the walls, then started slapping it in the holes. He used a trowel to scrape and flatten so that his repairs matched the rest of the wall's pitch.

The trio got to work and thankfully everything went smoothly. With Deimos' vast experience of construction and magic, he was able to replace the windows with absolute ease. Noah had similar luck. The wall might not be completely smooth where it's been repaired, but it's solid. The holes are filled and won't be reforming anytime soon.
As the other two are completing their tasks, Sah meanwhile addressed the door. It took a bit of finagling, and some air magic to tease out old nails, but he managed to remove the old door. Afterwards he took the new wooden door that was delivered and installed it securely.
The team regrouped afterwards and Sah grinned, "Well done. Here's the next bit."

Content with how the windows came out, he returned upon completion, listening to the next set of tasks at hand. Withholding a Cheshire grin towards the Sentinel, for they’d both helped with patching the Monster Hunter’s Guild exterior recently, the Sword figured he’d take part in yet another cyclical pattern. “I will take the roof,” jutting his jawline again towards the upper sanctions, before nodding, and disappearing out into the ether.
Shifting in his eagle form, and clutching hold of tools in talons, his arrival upon the top portions was easy, and the rest hopefully just the same. Returning to his human form, he intended to pry away the old tile, and repeated the same lines as before with the windows, recreating the shingles, and placing them down where necessary.
A bright smile of accomplishment adorned Noah's face. He was happy with the work he had done, and while it was not perfect, it was better than the gaping holes that were there before. It could be sanded later, before they needed to paint. For now, it was functional. Setting aside the tools he had used, Noah came back to Sah for his next assignment. Chuckling some as Deimos claimed the roof, Noah said,"I can work on clearing this place out."
Eira followed him around, grabbing small objects and debris in her claws and gliding towards the outdoor pile, which would soon turn into a pyre for the remnants of what they no longer needed. Noah, on the other hand, shifted down into his bear form to push and expel the largest and heaviest pieces of furniture. He piled it into the garbage pile. He worked the task, shifting back and forth between man and bear as it so required of him.

Sah
It seemed like luck was on their side at the moment as once again things went off without a hitch. Deimos was able to remove the broken and rotted tiles and replace them with relative ease. The roof was sound and the building itself was not as solid as could be. With Noah using his bear shift, he was able to efficiently remove all of the furniture. Old and broken chairs, tables, and random rotted planks were soon burning in the pyre. As soon as the inside was empty, Sah started sweeping. Using his air magic to speed it along, the floor was soon spotless.
"Fantastic work, guys." Sah regarded their work with a satisfied smile, "Let's spruce up the inside now."

1. Give the inside a fresh coat of paint.
2. Build the booths that the merchants will use.
3. Build benches for patrons to relax on when they take breaks from shopping.
With his long-held experience with buildings, given how much they’d had to do in the Grounds and beyond since his initial Outlander days, the Sword was content with the work; normal, residual, habitual. Once he returned from the roof, there was more to be done, and in his reticence, he listened quietly to the tasks.
More apt to building than painting, mostly because he tended to make a mess when juvenile restlessness took over, he eyed the space, considerations and calculations never too far from his mind. Taking the compliment with a small smile, he nodded towards the open area. “Thank you. I can make the benches.”
And from there, he granted himself some room to do just that – gloves peeled away so the creation magic flowed and flickered through them, bringing all the images in his detailed plans to fruition.

Content to let the two men with creation magic work on the construction parts of this project, Noah set to work on his next task. He grabbed the large bucket of paint and removed the lid. Then, he poured a portion of it into a smaller bucket that he could more easily move around the room. With a brush in hand and the handle of the bucket in the other, he moved to the farthest point of the room.
It was tedious work, but he was better suited for it that he was at building. He took too long to build, usually, having spent several seasons making his twins’ crib. Eira and Vi’dore, unable to help much with the painting, paced outside and watched the pyre to be able to translate to the humans inside if it somehow went out of control. In Halo, fires by jumping sparks were less likely due to the cold and wet nature of the land, but there was still caution to be had when it came to fires of any kind.
It seemed like too many hours passed before Noah was finished, but with paint on the walls and a nearly embarrassing amount on his clothes, hands, and even forehead and beard, Noah came back to see what else Sah had for them.

Clearly celebrating their luck jinxed it. Maybe it was the lighting or some other distraction but Deimos ran into trouble. The benches that he tried to form came out in pieces. Functional pieces just not attached. Legs, planks and nails littered the floor. Noah however was able to paint the market with efficiency and finished up quickly. Sah excelled as he combined his creation magic, mageglass, and manual labor to craft the booths. They went up faster than he ever could have predicted. Booths of various size nad design soon filled the space in rows.
Reconvening, Sah rolled his shoulders, "We're almost done!"

2. The front door needs a sign.
3. Decorations need to be placed on the walls.
His painting seemed to be going well, and while he focused on his task he didn't let his eyes wander to the other men and what they were doing. Perhaps it was his iron focus in this moment that gave him an easy, successful time of the painting. Maybe it was the way he had spent hours and hours painting over the murals in his home a damaged ex girlfriend had decided to paint all over.
Who could know.
Noah disposed of his used tools and then headed back to Sah for further instruction. Nodding at the options given, the Sentinel moved on to hanging banners and decorations. He left, once again, the crafting and construction to the two men so gifted by their powers at doing so.
