From being an Abandoned who had rarely left the Hollowed Grounds, to embracing the call of adventure, to dying and being reborn first as an Ascended and then as an Ancient, Maea has gone through quite the amount of changes in her life. One thing remains common, though, in her attempts to find out just where she belongs; she’s always had a craving for knowledge which has brought her to so many places and to meet so many people here in Caido. We can’t wait to see what else is in store for her!

Okay, so Flora was a bit late with starting her LongNight clean up, but honestly, with Safrin gone, with void things popping up everywhere, with Harper abdicating, with having been bit by a rabid fucking dog, I think we can cut her some slack. Or don't, it isn't like she'll care.
Either way, it's with a few giant bags of netting and some sharpened bits of wood, that Flora stands on the coastline. With the waves as high as they were a bunch of LongNight trash had washed up on the beaches. Mostly it was bottles and whatnot from all the drinking and partying, but who knows what else might be found. And since Flora ran the theives guild lost and found, she considered it her duty to spearhead the endeavor.
"Come on, many hands making light work and all that. There's netting and stabby-sticks, and gloves over here too if you don't want to touch stuff."
Cleaning up SE!
Grab a new and a stabby stick and start patrolling the coastline for trash!

Edmund was finally home after investigating the crash for Hadama and his visit to the Grounds. While he wanted nothing more than to go to bed, he was quickly informed by a guildmate about the cleanup going on. Pursing his lips, he thanked them for the information and turned on his heel to go help.
Upon arrival and spotting Flora, he gave the woman a nod. "I'm happy to help." She'd aided his guild's investigation so this was the least that he could do. Grabbing a net and a stick he got to work. Splat hovered around him and occasionally dove down to swallow a choice item whole. The young Ancient still had no idea where the items ever ended up in the shadowy blob, but he had a feeling the answer would scar him for life.

Edmund arrives and starts patrolling. Splat helps in his own way.
"Sorry I'm late!" Ronin comes whizzing down to the beach upon his nimbus, waving a hand to Flora and hopping down onto the sand once he's close enough. His reason for being late comes in the form of the cocktail he's just finishing out of half a coconut, and he offers his adopted daughter a bright smile as he straightens up next to her.
Accepting a net and a stabby-stick of his own, he promptly lets his projection take the lead, jogging across the beach and collecting up some debris before returning to place it in the real!Ronin's net. "How are you doing?" he asks Flora conversationally, offering a nod as well to Edmund and the angry little blob accompanying him.
"Hey! Cool, thanks!" Flora calls enthusiastically toward Edmund, pausing just a moment to frown at his companion before shrugging. Growing up with Mateo and her fathers, she'd absolutely seen weirder things, but still, a grumpy cloud wasn't the sort of thing you saw every day.
Smiling brightly as Ronin descends like the fairytale character that she is, she waves and takes a step back as if to imply his nimbus flying skills were perhaps lacking. "I mean, you could have at least brought me one." She pouts, eyeing his drink before turning away with a laugh.
"Can you hop back on and get some of the trash that's drifting out toward the open waters? Edmund and I'll make sure that's nothing buried."

In the wind you hear voices. It sounds like children playing some kind of game with laughter and mischief. Then one screams. There’s a call for ‘Mom!’ ‘Papa!’ and other adults as the laughter stops. Glancing towards the direction of the commotion, you’ll see fins cutting the water. A pack of echo sharks lucks, ready to leap up and grab any who fall for their trap.
You’ve encountered a pack of echo sharks. This counts as a common creature encounter for the purposes of levelling, but does not count as a Random Event for levelling or MP. There will be no further admin/re intervention. If you choose to follow this creature, you do so at your own risk, however, just having it in this thread is enough to satisfy your levelling requirements.
Echo Shark (common) - A dwarf species of shark known for hunting in packs, the Echo Shark can live in both freshwater and saltwater. They are able to mimic any sound they’ve heard and band together to increase their range of vocals. The sharks use the words and sounds they’ve learned to lure unsuspecting prey into the water, where the sharks will then leap up and drag them into the waves.
"I didn't think you'd appreciate me bringing you liquor from outside the bar," Ronin says with an apologetic smile, since of course he's not been able to get a drink from the Hanged Man what with its proprietor standing right there. But anyway. Gathering the trash his projection has collected so far, Ronin gives a quick nod at Flora's suggestion.
"I'm on it," he says, dismissing the projection in lieu of his nimbus and hopping aboard. It's just as he's scooping a few bits of debris from the waves that he hears what he swears is the sound of children drowning playing, the Nova directing himself instantly in the direction of the commotion.
Just in time for an echo shark to yeet itself from the water and tackle him off his nimbus and into the ocean with a splash!
Edmund returned Ronin's nod while Splat happily reverberated at being acknowledged. Flora's warm greeting made the Ancient smile as he got to work. "I have a shift that should help with finding any trash deposits if you'd like to dig up anything that I find?" While the tiger's senses would certainly help with detection, the molten aspect would probably not pair well with sand when it came to digging.
Taking a moment, the Ancient shifts into his molten tiger form and begins to use his keen senses to scan for trash. Walking the coast with perked whiskers, he does his best to find any hidden trash. It's as he was walking that heard a splash and looked over just in time to see Ronin get taken down by a shark. Turning on his paws, he raced over to try and see if he could help.

"And yet here you are, waving it in my face." Flora huffs back, and though her lips are twisted into an unhappy pout, there's enough of a sparkle in her aqua eyes to more than suggest she isn't that bothered. Definitely a little bothered, though.
"Cool, sounds good." Waiting expectantly for Edmund to shift, Flora watches on with an eager stare. "That's a great shift." She complimented enthusiastically, before waiting to see what the tiger might dig up. Of course before they can really find anything good, Ronin rudely interrupts their efforts by falling into the sea.
Crossing her arms and making utterly no attempt to help the Nova, she watches the tiger trot toward the water's edge with a small shake of her head. "Oh he'll be fine. It's those sharks who should worry."

Edmund doesn't have time to acknowledge the compliment with Ronin's antics. He'd be far more worried if Flora wasn't so relaxed. With one last glance at the water, he gives a nod and returns to his task. Whiskers twitching and nose on high alert, the tiger tries to locate any trash beneath the sand. If or when he locates any, he swipes at the surface with a large paw to mark it for Flora.
The tiger won't be surprised if they find a good deposit of trash or two. Torchline isn't known for litter, but LongNight can get out of hand. Drunkenly dropping a cup or two was a surprise to no one.
What the fuck, Ronin might have said, if he weren't too busy being dragged under the water and bitten and drowned.
Flora's right though, and no sooner is Edmund close to the shore when light beams outwards from the water, and a moment later a recently-supernova'd demigod trudges out of the waves, a couple of dead echo sharks clutched in one hand. Dragging them by the tail, he dumps them on the sand and shakes his hair out of his face.
"Sushi," he says to Flora with a nod, calling his nimbus back and taking to skimming the water for debris with an admittedly more sombre attitude.
Ronin supernova's some sharks and gets back to work!
Flashing Ronin a triumphant grin while eying the sharks, Flora nods. "Thaaaanks Dad. Just be sure you don't leave them out in the sun too long or we won't be able to serve them at the bar." Which was Flora's way of saying thank you, while telling Ronin to hustle and also that the Hanged Man would be confiscating said sushi for its patrons.
To Edmund, the Doubletake just chuckles. "Told you he'd be fine. He can never resist a bit of splashing around." She adds in a stage whisper easily loud enough for Ronin to be able to hear.
Beneath the tiger's large paws, much is revealed. Some is indeed trash—bags, empty bottles, a few discarded towels—but there's some decent junk as well: a bejeweled beach bag, a t-shirt with "kiss the cook" on it, and even an emerald bracelet. "Hey, that's not bad at all. Lets go dig by where the bonfire was. There's bound to be some more stuff under the sands over there."
Ronin will see more than a few bottles being carried away in the current, many of which are the colour of his husband's eyes. How sweet.

Edmund can't laugh in his current form, so he lets out a chuff. He's nervous that it won't be taken as intended, but he dramatically shakes his head at Flora while glancing at Ronin. Pouring as much 'disproval' into his body language as possible, hopes she's been enough around cats to get the message. The Doubletake is intimidating but if Soleil and Sohalia can get along with her, surely he can too.
Flora directs him to where the bonfire used to be, and the tiger gets right to work. Using the same tactic as before, Edmund tries to detect any hidden trash beneath the sand. The tiger's hindbrain questions why he didn't sit in the bonfire when he had the chance and the Ancient has to pause mid-step to process it. That's certainly on his list for next year now.

Flapping an arm at Flora to tell her he's on it, a sharp whistle escapes the Supernova, followed by the appearance of a pale shape in the sky. Sugar drops from where she's been harrassing the cloud wyrms and blasts a firm layer of frost over the echo frost. She'll stand watch over them until they're ready to haul them back into the Hanged Man.
Ronin, meanwhile, is quite enjoying his game of chase the bottle, even if he's soaking wet and keeping his toes firmly tucked away from the edge of his nimbus. Reaching out to cast his net, he tries to capture the Remi-eyed containers as he ferries himself along, gathering them up once he's done and searching for any stragglers.

Not terribly well-versed with feline behaviour to totally pick on what Edmund was trying to communicate, the Doubletake nevertheless decided he couldn't be too upset about things if he had opted to stay shifted instead of giving himself a mouth with which to speak with. "Next year we should make it a rule that the morning after LongNight everyone has to come back and pick up at least two pieces of trash." She says with a roll of her eyes as the cat's giant paws unearth yet more debris and garbage left over. "Once we're done, want to help me drag it back to the tavern to throw away properly?"
If anything noteworthy is found, Edmund will have to be the one to spy it, because Flora is glancing over her shoulder toward Sugar with an approving grin.
Of course, Ronin is fairly successful in his efforts now that he isn't being harassed by a bunch of sharks, but then, he is a demigod after all so Flora isn't rushing to offer him praise. That said, she does give him a big thumbs-up. "Hey, there's a merchant who makes wind chimes with glass like that. Want to drag it over to the market? Then we can meet after for lunch." She probably owed Ronin that, at least.
