Day is over
Night has come
Today is gone
What’s done is done

People. New people. While she met one of them, that did very little to reassure her of the trustworthiness of the rest. Naturals and outlanders… From distant observation, they didn’t seem too fond of each other, but she couldn’t tell which was which and what the tensions might mean for the ready of them.

What did she do in times of trouble? Well, she turned to her god for answers. More often than not, her prayers weren’t answered, and she was okay with that. Part of her reason for praying was to listen to her own gut as well as hope for the deity’s guidance. Which is would be this time, she didn’t know.

Eliza carefully climbed down the slick slope of the waterfall, her wings tucked against her to keep them as dry and safe as possible. Her foot slipped, but she caught herself in the air with rapidly flitting wings and a short gasp.

Deciding to just fly the rest of the close distance to the shrine, she touched the ground and smiled at the small statue and knelt before it. Her hands dug into the soft earth and pulled it aside. Eliza opened her satchel and gently took the not-yet-budding orchid plant from inside. She had been growing it in her window and the time had come to plant it outside, and she thought what better way to plant a young flower than as an offering to the god of nature?

“A gift from a girl who hopes for some guidance,” Eliza said softly, kneeling in front of the statue with her dirt-coated hands folded in her lap, wings laid easily on her back. “Please, Rae, if you have a moment to spare?” Though introspection was a valuable part of prayer, she wasn’t sure she could find the answers she sought within herself...

Warm winds caress the girl, curling about her feathers and entangling sweetly in her hair.

Rae is always around. Rae is everything, after all. But just now their split consciousness is slightly distracted by a rather cataclysmic event. Though Rae cares very little about the rise and fall of the barrier, still their obligations must be met.

And so the breezes are the only answer that the young fae girl receives; warm and sweet.

She wouldn’t be getting any face to face with her god today, but that was okay. There was always next time, or the time after that, or so on. It wasn’t necessary, and she knew that given enough thought, she would be able to figure out how to handle the sudden flood of new people. Hopefully.

Her golden-toned eyes fluttered closed as the winds picked up around her, and she sighed into the warm air with a gentle smile.

It wasn’t like recent events had been exactly calm, so she wasn’t surprised that she didn’t get a vocal answer. As a daughter of nature, though, the breeze that delicately caressed her was all she really needed to be reminded that Rae would always be there.

She touched the statue gingerly, then stood to leave and stopped herself. Glancing downward, Eliza reached down and slipped her boots off, then she continued walking, feeling the damp dirt and soft grasses underneath her bare feet and between her toes, casting a small grin back at the statue before heading back towards home.
