There were a great many people who were upset after the events of the final first round match, but Ronin's timely intervention had prevented the day from ending in tragedy, and Hadama intended to express his gratitude when things had quieted down a bit.

For now, however, he had his own match to meet, and he strode towards the ocean on legs that were steadier than they had ever been. If watching Sah strike down his friend had shaken the Tidebreaker he gave no outward sign of it, his expression as outwardly serene and stoic as ever. As he moved Safrin's StArmour unfolded from the armlet it usually rested in, covering his body in feathers of starlight.

While most people had chosen dry sand to fight on Hadama was not shy about walking into the surf, drawing strength from the waves racing and breaking around his calves and ankles. Once Sah was facing him the Tidebreaker nodded solemnly. "Do not hesitate," he rumbled, encouragement in his own tacit way before reaching for his newly-discovered connection to the lunar seas and borrowing a fraction of their ancient weight to slam down towards the Wild Thunder.

Sah was still reeling from accidentally murdering Melita. Even if she was alive, the guilt was overwhelming. He had wanted to drop out of the Tournament, but Melita and Ru had insisted that he continue. It was the only reason that he found himself standing before the Tidebreker.

The Wild Thunder couldn't help but flinch at Hadama's words, "Please don't die." In any other circumstance he may have been embarrassed at the state of his voice, but his emotions were frayed beyond breaking point.

Hadama made the first attack and the Wild Thunder grimaced as the lances struck true. The weight behind them was solid. Attempting to focus on the fight, Sah called forth his own magic. With a sharp flick of his wrist, he sent a wave of telekinesis magic at the Demi-god to try and get him away from the water and in easier striking range.

He would never use lightning on an ally again. Telekinesis should be gentler, right?

The young man had some issues to work through, and perhaps it was cruel to make him keep fighting under the circumstances, but their enemies would not wait for them to recover their emotional equilibrium. This tournament was training for those sorts of circumstances, even if the accidental death of the Honeybee had brought home just how grim those situations might be.

The Wild Thunder was holding back but his subsequent attack felt solid enough, drawing a grunt from the King as it staggered him to the edge of the surf. It brought home how much less resilient he was now, as if his atoms were still not quite settled around the shape of the newborn starlight in his soul.

Shaking off the bruising, the Tidebreaker shifted his feet back into the life-giving water and nodded. "Good!" he called, even as he reached for the new well of power in his bones, exploring its capabilities as he focused on honing it further. And struck again, seeking to hit harder against a worthy opponent.

Hadama's praise was surprising, and perhaps that was why Sah found himself too slow to dodge the gravity spikes. He nodded his thanks, unable to give even a forced smile. The Demi-god's desire to stay in the water caught his attention. If he was so desperate to stay, maybe Sah should ensure that he can't?

Calling his magic yet again, the Wild Thunder sent another surge of telekinesis, this time with slightly more force ot try and keep Hadama from the waves.

Again the surge of force pressed against him from behind and pushed him forward, away from the water and on to dry land, battering his back and shoulders with bruising pressure. Hadama resisted as best he could, but his strength was insufficient to prevent the buffeting or the end result of being removed from the water a second time.

But much like a salmon stubbornly determined to return to its spawning grounds against the current, so did Hadama refuse to abandon the sea. The moment the pressure of Sah's attack relented, the Tidebreaker used the momentary respite to stride back into the surf, letting the Arclight wash over his feet with a soothing shiver of power and protection.

He wasn't sure how many more hits he could withstand, but he would not yield without pouring every ounce of his new power into the bout. He gathered the node of gravity to himself for a third time, seeking to unlock its full potential that was just at the edge of his understanding, and unleashed it upon the Wild Thunder's head in stoic silence.


Hadama is knocked out of the water by the telekinetic shove, but uses his movement to return to the surf and then drops another Gravity Spike on Sah's head!

Sah was able to dodge the next round of spikes. His plan to keep Hadama from the water didn't seem to be working so he changed tactics. Even if what happened with Melita hadn't happened, he'd have still been hesitation to use lighting when the King was standing in the waves. It was far too risky.

Taking one from Hadama's book, the Wild Thunder shifted to earth magic. He envisioned a spike rising from the ground and knocking the Demi-god off his feet. If he could leave the man prone, he'd be able to land a solid hit on his next turn.

The sand shifted beneath his feet and Hadama shifted with it, moving swiftly out of the range of the instability as a pillar of earth struck up through the surging water he had been standing in. Even in shallow water and sliding sand he moved more confidently while in the sea, and as soon as he found a stable place to plant himself again within the comforting wash of surf he gathered his power once more.

Ronin could create three starbolts. It seemed likely that the Tidebreaker had within himself the potential for three gravity spikes, if he could only unlock the secret. So he tried again, emerald eyes dark with concentration as he focused his will above Sah and unleashed a final volley of distorted lances of space/time down towards the Abandoned's head and shoulders.
