VOID HORROR
Having squelched its way first from the swamp and then into the Oerwoud, the Void Horror had picked up not only several new physical additions to its rapidly growing body, but speed as well. No longer was it just a shambling and rolling monstrosity, but after having made its way into the more thickly populated areas of the jungle, had picked up several limbs with which to walk, and run, and fly.

It was only natural for a creature seeking warmth to make its way toward Torchline, and as it finally made its way toward the heart of the region, it kept itself near to water's edge where it could use the constant encouragement of the waves to propel itself further forward. With dozens of tentacles stretched both into the water as well as onto the beach, the Void Horror edged its way toward the more densely populated areas where life brought the promise of heat and food.

You have 48 hrs to join.

1. Flora
2. Talyson
3. Noah
4.

Void Horror (Rare) : A creature composed entirely of void energy that utilizes the body parts of things it digests in order to navigate its environment such that it has no fixed physical features and can grow to any size.

Oh no, of course. Why wouldn't there be a monstrous void creature wombling up the coastline. As if Torchline hadn't been fucked over enough by the recent arrival of Starfall, apparently mutating the flora and fauna of Caido wasn't enough. Now there appeared to be a genuinely hellish bit of Void trash to contend with.

Running for the nearest NPC citizen, Flora grasped a relatively fit looking woman by the shoulders. "Run and find the guards. Tell them to get everyone off this beach, now." The woman, stunned by the sight  of the Void Horror, was given a stern shake by the queen. "Go."

Now, normally the Doubletake would have instantly called down to one of her dads, only now that they'd gone and fucked with their alignments, Remi no longer packed a punch, and Ronin's normally monster-obliterating strength did absolutely nothing. Still, the White Knight could heal if she found herself in a pinch, so rather than opting for strategy #1, Flora went with #2: become invisible.

Twisting the ring on her finger, the Doubletake had to just hope that none of the 75 thousand eyes she could see on the creature had the ability to see through invisibility.

Flora has an NPC go alert the guards (the RA ones), to clear the citizens from the beach and turns invisible!

She has everything listed on her profile.

Is standing about 60ft away from the monster/shoreline up the coast.

Noah
It creeps in like a thief in the night
Without a sign, without a warning
There was screaming, and running, and when the demigod looked up, he saw nothing but danger. Alarm bells flashed in his mind but he didn't turn and flee. Instead, he ran headlong towards the creature making its way towards the beach with the sickening, squelching sound of tentacles and gods knows what else propelling it forward. His jaw feathered and he wasn't even aware of the muddled, growled, fuck that left his lips as his feet hit sand.

Having used it recently, and more often than not in the shadow of Starfall, Noah pulled his invisibility cloak over himself (not knowing that Flora had done a similar action, not even knowing the queen was in range of this beast). Still moving towards the creature, but having slowed some as to not draw too close, Noah called forth magic -- and prayed to Vi above that it would work. Please let it work. Please.

The spirit stag formed in a flash of brilliant sunlight, then charged with sparkling antlers lowered towards the Void Horror.

Noah covers himself with his invisibility cloak and sends his spirit stag to attack the creature.

No companions, but everything else on profile.

Type: Grey | Style: Defensive | Level: Basic
Invisibility Cloak | Ornate, detailed cloak, that when worn, renders an individual invisible. (Made by Deimos)

Magic: Spirit Stag | Can summon the spirit of a mighty stag; an echo of Noah's former shift. This will last for 1 post per thread and appears to be made of pure sunlight. Noah can direct the stag to charge at a target, dealing fire damage and causing disadvantage on their next roll.

Tal was just trying to do his job. The courier had been flying over the coast, heading for Kaiholo, when he looked down to check his altitude and saw a whole lot of ohfuckno schlorping along through the water below. And while it was tempting to put on the canvas and vamanos right on out of there, he could see the people on the beach running away below.

And since everyone else who was doing something about it was currently invisible, he didn't see anyone taking charge to slow the creeping horror down so they could escape.

"I fuckin' hate Mondays," he groaned. Was it actually Monday? Did it matter? The Void Horror was giving off Big Monday Energy so Tal said what he said.

Turning the tiller and grabbing a rope to pull in sail he dropped the Peregrine at a steep angle to skim down towards the horrible blob of-- how many eyes did that thing have??? "Hey!" he yelled down at it. "Fuckin'... stop!" Which wasn't particularly witty but Tal was doing his best to multitask as he leaned over the Peregrine's rail and, when the little boat skimmed by within 30 feet of the monster, stabbed down at it with his Dagger.

Tal arrives in the Peregrine! He uses his Dagger to stab down at the Void Horror from a distance as he sails the ship past overhead!

He has everything on his profile except Boreal.

Regardless of where he was at in his personal journey as a demigod, Hadama was a ruler of Torchline and would not hang back when his people were threatened. A fleeing Mer swam past him, babbling of a hideous monster attacking the coast and the King responded. He activated his armor and powered through the water in his own half-shifted form until the creature came into view.

Though he couldn't see Flora or Noah, the humans on the beach seemed to be evacuating the area of their own accords, and a small skyboat appeared to be strafing the beast from above. Hadama paused to consider his options, but time was of the essence to prevent the monstrosity from reaching land and he took a slow breath as he accepted the decision he was about to make.

Clear the area! he broadcast on the Attuned bond to any in the area who could hear him who wasn't already doing so. Then, keeping well back from the beast, he made a silent prayer to Safrin and unleashed his Gravity Spikes at the creature's... were those wings? Regardless, he aimed at them while avoiding the skyboat.

Hadama arrives in the water in Mer form! Staying 60 feet back, he activates his armor and calls down his Gravity Spikes, aiming for the creature's flying appendages.

VOID HORROR
Thanks to Torchline's soldiers and the queen's orders, the nearest stretch of coastline is cleared of civilians.

Noah 's spirit stag races across the beach in a blaze of sunlight, rushing headlong into the mess of tentacles and amalgamated body parts before dissipating in a burst of flame.

Talyson 's dagger slashes down at one of the creature's tentacles, severing it from its body. Where it drops into the water below, think blackish-purple sludge begins to ooze outward.

Hadama whose presence has brought the difficulty level down significantly, sends his gravity lanses at the creature. The effect is staggering, and in an instant the Horror falls from the sky sending a wave of water up onto the beach as splashes down into the sea.

With a desperate wave of its tentacle toward the Peregrine, the creature meaning to swat it out of the sky until its wings had been taken from it, the Horror focuses on the only other target its able to see: Hadama.

Slorping out an appendage (what it was composed of it's better not to say) to reach for the king, the Horror intends to bury the demigod against the sandy shoreline. Hadama is able to evade the creature's reach, however.

Your randomly assigned posting order is:

"SUCK IT." The queen calls with delight as Hadama 's gravity lances appear to cripple the creature significantly. "I'm here, by the way." Flora announces, and though she waves a hand—to what end, we might never know—at least her co-ruler would be aware that somewhere on the beach the Doubletake was present.

Whether or not the Void Horror was sentient enough to understand the things she was about to say, Flora tried for a bit of quick wit that she hoped Hadama would understand. "You should do a doubletake when it comes to what you see next." So saying, Flora throws out her pocket mirror as close to the shoreline as she can, hoping that she could at least draw the focus of the Void Horror so that Hadama could finish kicking its ass.

Flora gets closer and tosses her pocket-mirror to try and draw the creature's attention!

He might not be able to see Noah, but he knew that Stag well and emerald eyes gleamed with sudden hope as he realized he wasn't alone. Flora's voice snag out over the sands next, and while the Queen was wisely invisible to the Tidebreaker - and hopefully the Horror as well - he felt bolstered by her presence.

The Horror's lashing tentacle came a little too close for comfort, however, and Hadama dove to the side with a flick of his long, muscular tail.

"Lure it from the water," he called out, noting the heavy sludge already beginning to stain the Arclight around it. "If we can!" Suiting action to words he began to swim closer to the shore - though not too close to the image of Flora that suddenly appeared on the sand, looking lovely but standing far too still to be his vivacious partner in rulership.

And he unleashed another barrage of Gravity Spikes to encourage the monster out of the pool water.

Hadama advises the team to lure the horror out of the water and swims towards the shore a ways down the beach from the beautiful Flora who has just appeared! He uses his Gravity Spikes again.

Noah
It creeps in like a thief in the night
Without a sign, without a warning
Invisible, Noah was able to move around the beach undetected by the horrible creature that attempted to decimate the beach and any living thing it could, including Talyson in the skyboat above their heads. His stag hit true, antlers sinking deep before disappearing in a flash of sunlight.

There was no time for pride to swell in Noah’s chest, or the satisfaction of knowing it had done something to linger. He needed to press on. He heard @Flora’s voice, but didn’t look around for her (he wouldn’t be able to see her anyway), instead he surged on with another attack -- already thinking the same thoughts as Hadama rang them out. Get it out of the water.

Knowing now the scope thanks to the meeting over the orb, Noah angled himself on the other side of the beast as to not hurt Hadama, then Noah let loose his atomic roar. The invisible burst of energy rushed forward with all of the rage and vindication of Vi himself as Noah’s glacier eyes focused ahead, planning for the next course of action.

Noah goes around the creature so he doesn't hit Hadma, then uses atomic roar.

He was a little busy trying to steer his skyboat to immediately notice all the things going on below, but he saw a giant tentacle whip past with an outraged flail that missed the Peregrine by a wide berth, and a glance over the side showed it falling towards the water where the King of Torchline was taking a dip. "Hey, thanks!" he called.

And then there were Stags and Doubletakes and he started feeling a little foolish for assuming that no one else was around to help when clearly Torchline had it handled. But, hail, he was here now and he wasn't going to run away while they were winning!

Bringing the tiller around, he lashed it and dove over to the rigging to haul on a line, pulling the skyboat into a tight turn just in time to see Noah's Roar ripple across the water. He swallowed hard and focused on bringing his boat down to get back within 30 feet of the monster. "Aye aye," he called to the Mer King as the plan - well, goal, at least - floated up to him. He skimmed by at the very top of his range and leaned out over the rail, using the rope for balance so he could risk another stab downward before scrambling back to the tiller to straighten the course out and send the Peregrine skimming towards the nearby shore.

Tal does another fly by and heads the Peregrine towards the shore, taking a stab on the way past!

VOID HORROR
"Flora" appeared on the shoreline, entirely motionless just before Hadama 's gravity lances came down again. With a roar the creature seemed to collapse inward with the weight of the Tidebreaker's attack before it was pulled apart from the inside by Noah. Luckily the Foresaken's attack missed Talyson 's skyship overhead, though the subsequent blast had Flora roughly shoved back 15ft.

Talyson 's attack hits, cutting off two more tentacles that causes even more slick purple-black oil to spill into Torchline's pristine waters.

Aiming for the Peregrine—"Flora" wasn't moving and Hadama had proven too wiggly—the Horror aimed another tentacle toward the skyship. This time it connected and the resulting blow would see the Peregrine crash from the sky and slam onto the beach with Talyson just as badly battered.

From "fuck yeah" to "oh no", Flora felt herself get thrown ass over tits across the sand. Luckily no one could see her, which was probably for the best given the ugly way she glared around, wondering who was at fault. Seeing no one and thus assuming it was the monster, the Doubletake got shakily to her feet just in time to see a skyship careening out of the sky.

Running away from the debris, and though she knew it was Tal inside, she was more concerned with the fucking Void Horror on their shore, sozles. "Rae, please don't let this thing fucking explode in the water and pollute it." She prayed feverishly. "Or Frey, maybe you can do something. Either of you." Shove it onto the beach or fuck it to death, Flora really didn't care, but every limb that the courier slashed off succeeded in leaving a dark trail of something that did not look good.

The Horror was quickly looking terrible after their attacks against it, but Hadama’s jaw tightened as he watched the skyboat get struck and fall from the sky towards the beach below. Still, perhaps it was just as well. Although he felt for the young man who had been bravely attacking from above, the ichor-seeping pieces of the Horror that he’d been slicing off were corrupting Torchline’s oceans and the King would not abide that. ”Do not cut it further,” he called to Talyson when it became clear that the Messenger was still alive. ”Its blood pollutes the waters!”

He could spare no more time for the courier at the moment, however. Like Flora, his focus was entirely on ending the threat to their coast.

Shifting into his Hippocampus form, Hadama called on his Mastered Water Manipulation to call a massive wave to try and shove the Void Horror out of the ocean and on to the shore.

Hadama tells Tal to cut it out, then shifts into his Hippocampus form and uses its Mastered Water Manipulation ability to try and push the Void Horror and its various wriggly bits onto the shore with a localized wave.

Noah
It creeps in like a thief in the night
Without a sign, without a warning
Noah’s magic once again rung true and he wanted to immediately send another surge towards the creature. But, he heard the sound of wood splintering and saw Talyson and his boat start to fall from the sky. ”No!” He screamed, jumping forward a step before releasing another section of Vi’s divine fury. The atomic roar surged out, intending to kill and destroy. He remembered his own time of falling from the sky during a battle, and Noah wanted to protect the courier as Ronin and Remi had done for him

As soon as the magic unfurled, Noah ran to @Talyson’s side. He skidded to a stop by the courier, assessing him. ”Tal are you okay?” He asked, words frantic and eyes darting between the Halovian and the creature that was writhing. He was ready to protect Tal should he need to.

Noah uses atomic roar on the creature, then runs to Talyson to see if he is ok. I’d like to use his regional feat to ignore how difficult it is to run in the sand.

Halo has hardened you against her weather and her terrain. Once per PQ/PQ+/KQ/Drop, you can ignore an environmental effect that would otherwise hinder you (rough terrain, cold, wind, etc). (In order to use this ability, you must put a clear note in the bottom of your post immediately following the effect you want to ignore).
