Ianto, too, was exploring. But he had not been thrown into the world within the barrier (the barrier that no longer existed, he reminded himself). No, he had been locked out of that world, tossed to the Wildwood and expected to survive. So now that he was able to cross that line into the Outskirts, he was thoroughly eager to do so. Only at his own pace, however. Others he'd met had suggested he come into the Settlement, or to a tavern called the Rathskeller, but... no. He was fine out here for now, thanks.

It was not a man, then, but a fox that padded through the long grasses under a Flowerbirth sun, nose to the ground, fluffy tail waving this way and that as he followed the scent to the road. He didn't know what he was following yet, but he hoped it looked and sounded and tasted like chicken. It wasn't until he had emerged fully onto the road that he realised he wasn't alone, amber eyes flashing up to spot Killian coming in the opposite direction. Ears twitching, Ianto opened his mouth to let a long pink tongue loll out, and promptly sat down to wait for the man to get close enough.
