Stout, tatted, and spiky.

Caelynn is short but strong. Her pale skin is adorned with tattoos, she loves the artwork that scatters her body. She’d love to get at least one tattoo in every new place she visits. Her left arm is a full sleeve of a beautiful scenic route through a valley to the top of a mountain looking at the moon. A lady of justice sits on her outer thigh the weights down at her side and the sword raised high, rather than the opposite that is usually seen. By far her favorite tattoo is the key hold that she wears on her ring finger, her best friend had the matching keyhole on his. They were stupid teenagers when they got them, but it’ll forever be her reminder not to take life for granted.

She has large ram-styled horns that round wide to both sides of her head, they make one full turn and a little bit more. Each horn is spiked with abnormalities growing like spikes sporadically about the turns, some point inwards toward Caelynn's head and others point outwards away from her frame. (Like this) There are five on her right horn and four on her left horn. She has a long tail that she routinely keeps wrapped around her leg, finding that it likes to get in the way in large gatherings and often can cause extra sound if she's trying to be sneaky. Caelynn’s tail tip has a scar that looks oddly like a heart, it remains a soft pink color in comparison to her pale skin tone.

Caelynn constantly has a bitch face on. It hides her sharp teeth. She loves to wear cloaks, sweatshirts, and jackets since even the slightest breeze can make her feel cold on a cooler temperature day. The hoods often get stuck on her horns and earn tears from the spiky abnormalities. To be honest, she isn’t sure that she owns any article of clothing that doesn’t have a tear or hole from her horns if it has to go over her head to be worn.

She tries to always wear practical clothing. Long pants and long sleeves when adventuring. Short pants and short sleeve tops or sundresses when she’s out in the city. She does enjoy dressing up and looking the part when she wants to. In that practicality comes an innate love for herself and the way she looks, she never hides her features or glamours them away. She prefers the way she is.
Personality

Generally quiet but she can get quite snarky. She practices to be good at what she does, and she doesn’t take any shit. Caelynn can be friendly and do friendly banter, but mostly she’s the kind of girl who prefers to be alone in her comfortable silence. Having lost a lot in her short past, she isn’t sure she’s ready to make the kind of connections that she ultimately will if she makes friends wherever she lands next.

She has a hard time hiding her emotions, mostly the angry or annoyed ones, but occasionally she’ll cry in front of you. Pretty constantly people consider her to be short and rude, but in all honesty she’s just being flat. No extra additives, she speaks only what needs to be said. Listening more than talking.

If you were to get close enough Caelynn’s personality opens. She values connection and items greatly as she knows the value of even the smallest item. She is caring and kind. So much so that she would put her life on the line for those that mattered to her. Only her friends would know that she feeds stray animals and camps in the woods consistently. Only the closest of those friends would be invited with her on her camping trips where she cares for the land she sleeps on. Cleaning the area and ripping out invasive species of flora. She loves to learn about the environment every chance she can get.

Caelynn has always been a curious individual, always willing to learn as long as she never felt like she was stupid. Feeling embarrassed about something always made Caelynn feel as if she was being cornered, Caelynn hates being cornered. It makes her feel like a weak individual, an individual on the brink of losing everything she’s worked so hard to earn.
History
Caelynn was born in the Longheat to Rebka and Harding Rae, two scientist Ancients who worked with flora and fauna and took their daughter on trips into the wild with them from the moment she was birthed.

Met her best friend Frankie when she was 5 years old. He was another scientist’s son. Their parents worked in the same field together. He didn’t look like her, he didn’t have horns or a tail, he didn’t have to kill things to remain sane and able to move, and most importantly he didn’t have the ability to shift into another creature. WIth all of those differences they enjoyed each other and never envied the other for their abilities. Their friendship continued to be amazing until Caelynn was 22 years old.

Went on her first camping trip with just her mother at 7 years old. She got to help her mother look at the flora and do her work. Her father stayed home in their rock formation home in the Climb to study a fauna he’d taken home with him that was a little too dangerous for a small child to be around.

At 10 years old was when her parents started to take her into the caves to study the crystals and beautiful stones found there. Occasionally they would test her knowledge and leave her in the caves and have her find her own way out. While some of these days made her scared beyond belief it trained her for the rest of the world more than any other thing her parents could do for her. She used her Fyrhund instincts to find her way out of the caves, her sense of smell helped her the most.

At 15 was when Frankie and Caelynn snuck away to the Burrows for the first time. During this weekend trip they snuck into taverns and drank, they theived from little shops and then sold those items for cash or traded them for other interesting pieces. This continued every couple of months until they were 22. On Caelynn’s 16th birthday Frankie took her to a tattoo shop and paid for them to get paired tattoo’s. As a blushing teen she loved the idea, especially as she’d started to like him. ‘Like like’ him. He’d have been lying if he said he didn’t like her the same.

At 20 her family went into the caves to explore and find new flora to learn about. Her parents protected their daughter from a Fyrhund. At that point in her life she’d had training about how to avoid these sorts of animals, but not how to kill them. The only killing she’d ever have to do was to control her bloodlust, and that was mainly small animals, animals that she could take care of herself easily. Since then she’d trained not only her mind but her body as well. Even if that meant that she woke up in pain from working out and training more than half of the days in the last 4 years of her life.

At 21 Franki and Caelynn left the Climb for the first time in their life. They traveled to Hak Etme to explore the little island. They had packed their bags and been prepared for everything, so Caelynn and Frankie thought. They were young and stupid, Caelynn having lost too much to care about where she went next, and Frankie willing to follow the girl he loved to her death. Traveling in Hak Etme was hard. They’d only planned to be there for a weekend. They made it through the weekend with scratches and cuts from flora and fauna, but what they didn’t expect was the sickness that Frankie would bring home. After he was brought home Caelynn moved him into her family home to take care of him. His family couldn’t handle it. His parents were elderly and already near the end of their life, as well as afraid that what he had was contagious and dangerous.

At 22, in Deepfrost, Caelynn lost her best friend, the last person she cared about to the sickness he brought home from their first quest abroad. In his last moments she promised to travel and learn as much as she could for the both of them. His last breath revealed his love to her, he couldn’t pass without letting her know she was loved. It wasn’t long after that she began to keep her promise and packed a bag to take a long journey.

That was the last thing she remembered before waking up in her home curled by the fireplace with a cup of dried out hot tea sitting next to her. A plate of once hot dinner next to it. Stretching she groaned and wondered how she fell asleep in her chair. Her body felt stiff as if she’d skipped a hunt and meal. Her fangs even ached. Looking around she noticed how the food looked, dried, past the point of rotten. That was her first sign that something was wrong. Before she could really think further into it her body let her know that it was time to hunt. She couldn’t put it off she was already stiff, and there was nothing she hated more than that stiff feeling. She opened her door and began her walk out of the cavernous area her home was built in to reach the surface. When she looked around everything looked different, but somehow still the same. Her land had aged, but she didn’t have enough time to think about that. She needed to tame the bloodlust.

Caelynn vowed to write everything she learns in a series of Journals. She keeps these journals in her home in the Climb. The home that she plans to return to someday. The very home she took care of her best friend in is nowl clean and ready for her to return to when she chooses. She looked around the room one last time, kissed the handprint painting on the wall next to the door, the one that she and her parents had made long before they died, and headed to the ports in the Climb. Where would she go next? She didn't quite know yet, but anywhere was better than here.
