Happiness is a choice that requires effort at times
Zavien fidgets with his sword hilt as he leans against the well, fingers tapping and picking at the leather of the handle. He watches his foot bounce against the ground, faintly aware that he's very much panicking. He shouldn't be so nervous, but he's had plenty of time during the walk over here to consider all the ways Koa might react, and he's dreading to find out which path it might be. Would he smile and embrace the news? Punch him and yell about how he's the worst friend in existence? Go silent and refuse to speak to him ever again? Zavien can't even begin to guess, and he's stressing about it, about the possibility of losing a friend after being so impulsively selfish.
He runs a hand through his damp hair, grateful for the momentary lapse in screaming rain so that he could listen to every catastrophic thought with cruel clarity. Sol sits diligently at his side, glancing between him and the well where Zavien had thrown a coin earlier, figuring he could use all the luck he could get. The echo has faded now, but the dragon still notes the tension, seeming to expect something to happen in the moment.
The only sign of change is the pad of footsteps coming towards them. Zavien's head snaps up, his shoulders straightening as he takes in his friend, offering a comedically nervous smile. "Hey Koa. How was the trip from Halo?"
