#1
Keeper of the First Flame
Region: Halo (Abandoned)

Concept
In Halo, fire is survival given shape.

The Keeper of the First Flame tends a sacred fire believed to have burned through generations of Halovian history. Part survival tool, part religious symbol, the flame represents endurance against the cold and the promise that Halo will not fall to its frigid environment. The Keeper is an Abandoned, raised—or chosen—to ensure the flame never goes out.

Cultural Role
Halovians often seek the Keeper’s fire before and after hunts, journeys, or battles.
  • Standing in the fire’s light for luck
  • Passing weapons or charms through flame
  • Carrying embers, ash-marks, or coal fragments
  • Offering thanks upon safe return
To be burned by the sacred fire is widely considered good fortune. Scars are sometimes worn with pride, seen as proof the flame has taken notice.

Abilities
  • Level 5, 56 Stats, 25 Arcana
  • Mastered Fire
  • Custom Teleportation Through Fire Magic
  • Fire Elemental Companion

Faith, Temperament & Tradition
The Keeper typically comes from a long-standing firekeeping tradition, with knowledge passed down through ritual, oral teaching, scars, relics, or the elemental bond itself.
  • Devout and duty-driven
  • Highly ritual-oriented
  • Confident—sometimes uncomfortably so—in the righteousness of their role
Whether the Keeper is compassionate or rigid, revered or resented, proud or quietly burdened is left open to you.

Because this is a role that is always present in Halo, if this character goes inactive we'll consider them to have died and another Keeper will be chosen!

#2
Halovian High-Ranking Soldier
Region: Halo (Hybrid)

Concept
A seasoned Halovian soldier of notable rank, this character has survived enough DeepFrosts, wars, and patrols to earn both authority and trust. They serve Halo not for glory, but because someone must hold the line.

Their position places them in regular contact with Deimos, Halo’s Warden, whether as a trusted commander, long-standing subordinate, or reliable second-in-command (talk to Heather). Their shared history is shaped by campaigns, losses, and the quiet understanding that Halo survives through discipline and resolve.

Abilities
  • Level 5, 65 Stats, 25 ARC
  • Can partially shift animal form, Can call like-minded animals for assistance (1 large, 3 medium, 5 small, from the same animal family), Can speak telepathically with other Attuned even when not shifted
  • Ursur Shift
  • Luxere Shift
  • Mastered Water Magic

Role & Reputation
Known throughout Halo, this soldier is trusted to carry out orders, maintain discipline, and return alive when others do not. Their loyalty is deep-rooted and hard-earned, forged through shared hardship rather than blind obedience.

#3
Temple Physician
Region: Hollowed Grounds
Race: Ancient, level 5

Concept
The Temple in the Hollowed Grounds requires more than faith and shelter—it requires someone capable of keeping its people alive.

This character serves as the Grounds’ primary medical authority: a physician, healer, or surgeon whose role is rooted in practical care rather than just Dygra's intervention. Their presence fills a longstanding need within the Temple, offering treatment for injury, illness, and the lingering consequences of trauma carried by the region.

Abilities
  • Level 5
  • Mastered Bloodboon
  • Mastered Scorch
  • Lial Shift – Grants access to Snapdragon Reagent, a substance harvested from the Lial’s blood. Snapdragon acts as a potent stimulant that induces euphoria and lowers inhibitions, sometimes used to calm patients, dull panic, or assist with painful procedures.
  • Lyvern Shift – A winged, reptilian shift suited for speed, mobility, and aerial access, useful in emergencies or rapid transport.

Items
  • Healing Ring – Via touch, releases a controlled plume of restorative fire that cauterises wounds and accelerates healing at mastered level.
  • Anaesthetic Focus – A novocaine-like salve used to numb pain during medical procedures.

Role & Function
This character operates primarily within or in connection to the Temple and would be known to all living in the Hollowed Grounds, especially those who often find themselves wounded (looking at you, Asta).

Personality & Background
This character may be compassionate or clinical, gentle or blunt, revered or merely tolerated. Their reasons for taking on the role—duty, curiosity, atonement, survival, or something else entirely—are up to you!

#4
Tailor of the Hollowed Grounds
Region: Hollowed Grounds, Level 5
Guild: Guilded Market
Race: Up to you.

Concept
The Hollowed Grounds may be scarred, but its people still dress, celebrate, mourn, and mark milestones.

This character serves as the Grounds’ primary tailor and clothier, operating through the Guilded Market and supplying garments that blend function, identity, and subtle magic. Their work is not meant for battle or quests, but for living fabulously; clothing that comforts, protects from the elements, and carries personal meaning.

Craft & Magic
  • Maker’s Whimsy – As a member of the Artisans’ Guild, the tailor can create minor magical items that exist purely for narrative flavour. These creations are aesthetic or convenience-based and provide no combat, mechanical, or progression benefits.

Common examples include:
  • Cloaks that always feel warm
  • Clothing that never stains or tears easily
  • Fabric that subtly shifts colour or pattern

These items are whimsical, expressive, and story-driven.

Role & Reputation
Having lived in the Grounds for some time, they are well known to its people, but their work is coveted outside of the Grounds as well.

They are a favoured artisan of Astaroth, among other notable clientele, and are accustomed to fulfilling unusual or highly personal commissions without comment.

#5
Kingpin of Torchline
Region: Torchline
Guild: The Grey Road
Alignment: Chaotic Evil or Lawful Evil
Race: Attuned, Level 5

Concept
Torchline does not stay empty for long.

With Jack Barclay gone, the criminal underbelly of the region has shifted—and this character has risen to fill the space left behind. Whether through intimidation, clever negotiation, or sheer ruthlessness, they have become a known figure within Torchline’s shadow economy.

They are not a rumour. They are not subtle to those who know what to look for. The government knows their name. Long-term residents recognise them. And whether they are attempting to formalise their operations through a deal with Flora or simply daring her to stop them is up to you!

Abilities & Shifts
  • Level 5, 65 Stats
  • Can partially shift animal form, Can call like-minded animals for assistance (1 large, 3 medium, 5 small, from the same animal family), Can speak telepathically with other Attuned even when not shifted
  • Shadow’s Veil – When remaining still in low light or darkness, members of the Grey Road can blend seamlessly into shadow, rendering them effectively invisible for narrative purposes.
  • Hel Shift – A quiet, unassuming avian form ideal for surveillance and eavesdropping. Hels can allow others to walk on water while perched upon them—a gift this character twists into a threat, using it to control, test loyalty, or drown those who defy them by lifting away at the wrong moment.
  • Aqueix Shift – A fluid form capable of slipping through narrow gaps, flowing through rock crevices, and swimming or breathing underwater with ease.
  • Tide Jaguar Shift – A powerful aquatic predator form built for speed, violence, and dominance in Torchline’s waters.

Items
  • Invisibility Ring – Grants invisibility to the wearer and one additional person within close proximity. Often used for escapes, clandestine meetings, or abductions.

Reputation & Relationships
This character has an established history within Torchline’s criminal world and may:
  • Hold resentment or begrudging respect toward Jack Barclay, but will be known to Jack.
  • Have benefited directly from the power vacuum he left behind
  • Be actively negotiating, threatening, or posturing toward Flora’s rule
Their dealings mirror the old ways of Torchline’s underworld: tolerated when useful, crushed when inconvenient.

Temperament & Background
This character may be:
  • Coldly methodical or gleefully cruel
  • A strategist who prefers contracts—or a predator who prefers fear
  • Motivated by control, survival, legacy, or indulgence
What matters is this: they understand Torchline, and they intend to keep their grip on it.

Because this is a role that is always present in Torchline, if this character goes inactive we'll consider them to have died and another kingpin will be chosen!

#6
Ghostwhaler of Torchline
Region: Torchline
Race: Accepted, Level 5

Concept
Ghostwhales are rare. Seeing one is considered a bad omen.

This character has seen more than one.

Known along the coast and among sailors as a Ghostwhaler, they spend most of their life at sea, hunting the massive spectral whales that haunt the waters near the cliffs. Where others flee sightings of ghostly fins and circling dead birds, this captain gives chase.

They are more myth than merchant now—spoken about in dockside whispers and storm-lit taverns.

Abilities and Items
  • Level 5, 73 Stats
  • Upgraded Channeling
  • Sear Cat Companion
  • Personal Vessel – A dedicated whaling ship, reinforced for long voyages and deep-sea combat.
  • Magical Cannons – Capable of firing both outward at enemy ships and downward into the water, designed specifically to strike massive submerged targets.

Reputation
  • Known to spend months away from port
  • Regarded as grim, obsessive, or touched by bad luck
  • Rumoured to have successfully killed a ghostwhale in the past
Whether that kill was clean, costly, or incomplete is up to you!

Temperament & Background
Left vague but some ideas are:
  • Grisled, jaded, and weather-worn
  • Obsessive or singularly driven
  • Quietly superstitious—or openly dismissive of superstition
Their reason for hunting ghostwhales may stem from:
  • A family member lost to one
  • A debt, vow, or curse
  • A need to prove the monsters can bleed

#7
Barrows Caretaker
Region: King’s End
Race: Hybrid, Level 5

Concept
This character serves as a caretaker of King’s End’s burial mounds, tending graves, maintaining wards, and ensuring the dead remain undisturbed. Their work exists in the uneasy space between respect and necessity—because in the Barrows, neglect is dangerous.

They are not a priest, nor an exorcist. They are maintenance, and survival.

---

Role & Responsibilities
  • Maintaining burial mounds and grave markers
  • Monitoring spiritual disturbances
  • Ensuring rites and offerings are not disrupted
  • Guiding travellers away from active or dangerous tombs
They know which areas are safe, which are merely quiet, and which should never be approached—especially after dusk.

Abilities
  • Level 5, 65 Stats, 25 ARC
  • Can partially shift animal form, Can call like-minded animals for assistance (1 large, 3 medium, 5 small, from the same animal family), Can speak telepathically with other Attuned even when not shifted
  • Mastered Earth Magic
  • Mastered Fire Magic
  • Cat Sith shift

Relationship to the Barrows
The caretaker understands the dangers present, including:
  • Daemons bound to mythic graves
  • Villi haunting emotionally charged tombs
  • The rare but catastrophic appearance of Enenra

They do not fight these beings unless forced to. Avoidance, appeasement, and preparation are preferred tools.

Because this is a role that is always present in King's End, if this character goes inactive we'll consider them to have died and another will be chosen!

#8
Bartender of the House of Midnight
Region: King’s End
Location: House of Midnight
Race: Attuned

Concept
This character serves as the primary bartender of the House of Midnight, tending drinks for clients and workers. They are a fixture behind the bar: ever-present, unimpressed, and far more observant than they let on.

They’ve seen everything. Or at least enough of it to stop pretending otherwise.

Role
  • Mixing drinks, both mundane and magically infused
  • Listening without reacting
  • Knowing when to cut someone off—and when not to
  • Maintaining the bar as a neutral ground within the House

The bartender is not management, muscle, or entertainment—but they are quietly essential.

Shifts and Abilities
  • Level 5, 65 Stats
  • Can partially shift animal form, Can call like-minded animals for assistance (1 large, 3 medium, 5 small, from the same animal family), Can speak telepathically with other Attuned even when not shifted
  • Griffon Shift
  • Wine Spider Shift
Temperament & Vibe
Strongly inspired by the archetype of the tired, sharp-tongued bartender:
  • Dry humour and biting sarcasm
  • World-weary, jaded, and deeply unimpressed
  • Says exactly as much as necessary—and not a word more
  • Keeps emotional distance through wit and indifference

Whether this is armour, genuine apathy, or a coping mechanism is up to you!

Relationship to the House
The bartender is trusted within the House of Midnight:
  • Privy to secrets, but not obligated to act on them
  • Respected by workers and tolerated by clients
  • Firmly neutral in disputes—at least publicly

They are not easily intimidated, and very difficult to surprise.

Background
Left intentionally undefined.

They may have ended up here by accident, design, debt, or exhaustion. Whether they plan to leave someday—or know better than to try—is up to the player.

#9
Caretaker of the Celestine
Race: Attuned

Concept
This character is the current caretaker of the Celestine, having stepped into the role after the death of the former caretaker, Lena. Once her close collaborator, assistant, or apprentice, they now bear responsibility for the magical menagerie and the lives sheltered within it.

They are not a ruler of the Celestine, but its steward—ensuring peace, balance, and recovery.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Overseeing magically attuned enclosures tailored to each creature
  • Monitoring the physical and emotional recovery of injured fauna
  • Ensuring creatures are not disturbed during healing
  • Coordinating eventual releases back into the wild

Abilities
  • Level 5, 65 Stats
  • Can partially shift animal form, Can call like-minded animals for assistance (1 large, 3 medium, 5 small, from the same animal family), Can speak telepathically with other Attuned even when not shifted + beastmaster
  • 2 regular shifts, 1 mythical
Relationship to Lena
Lena’s influence lingers throughout the Celestine.
  • She trained or mentored this caretaker
  • Her routines, notes, or methods may still be followed
  • The role may feel inherited rather than chosen

How the caretaker feels about stepping into her place—confidence, grief, doubt, or quiet resolve—is up to you!

Because this is a role that is always present in the Celestine, if this character goes inactive we'll consider them to have died and another will be chosen!
