Character of the Season
Once known as the Butcher of Whitebrim, he's now The Butcher of Dygra, stepping forward as the first created demigod of the Ancients. There is no question that Astaroth casts an intimidating silhouette. Tall, domineering and dangerous, if looks could kill you'd be dead already, but to get up close and personal with the Grounds' resident cannibal tells a much different story. Dripping with charm and clad in only the finest attire, Asta is a gentleman monster, as polite as they come and committed to his role as security for the Dusklight and those who have earned his loyalty. Be careful of that smile, though - those teeth are sharp.

Nikolai grits his teeth, temper rising when the shark bites Az. For a second another Ascended is in the Demi-god's place. Nikolai refuses to lose another part of the family to this creature.
He steps in front of Az, hoping to guard them from the shark's next attack. His upgrades metaphorically itch under his skin, urging him to action. Nikolai activates his energy shard upgrade once more and attempts once again to strike the shark. He wants this thing dead yesterday. And as no other plan seems to be working, keeping up the pressure with constant attacks seems like his best bet.

Nikolai moves to stand between Az and the shark and attempts to hit the creature with his energy shard upgrade.

The world is new to you, and you to it. During PQ/PQ+/KQs/Drops, you roll with advantage on luck-based rolls and receive an extra name during drops. (In order to use this, make sure to note the ability at the bottom of each post)
There are times when the unseen can be even more dangerous than what our eyes behold
Luck is not on Azrael 's side as they begin to channel their abilities. Instead of creating a strong net capable of restraining a landshark, their magic produces an incredibly delicate (but beautiful!) version that looks as though some steel spider might have made it. In short, it's pretty, but useless.
With Nikolai being the only one not pressed up against the tree, it's him that the surfacing landshark tries to attack. However as the shark rises it does indeed get caught in the root system of the trees (read: rolls a critical fail). As it struggles, all attacks against it easily succeed, doing more damage given the shark's aggressive efforts to free itself. Blood pours from the creature as the light in its dark eyes gradually becomes dull, then flat, then altogether gone.
The creature is dead. Whether or not this is the same one which killed Bastien we'll never know. Maybe you've gotten justice for a friend or maybe you've killed an innocent creature. Either way, you will walk away with your lives, and each with a good assortment of landshark teeth if you want them, which can be fashioned into weapons.
Congratulations! You have killed the landshark and escaped with your lives! Feel free to leave a parting post if you like. Last person to post please put a FIN on it.

Darkeye looked at the dead animal and is glad that the fight has finally come to an end. "Is everyone okay?" Darkeye looks around to see how the others are doing. "That was not an easy fight. I think we should take the carcass back home and use it as we see fit. We can make jewelry or weapons out of the teeth and good clothes out of the skin. Bones, depending on how strong they are, can always be put to good use." Darkeye starts to bandage his wounds and takes a short breath. Then he brings the animal back to the Grounds.

Not all truths Belong to the light
Nikolai grins with satisfaction as the creature goes down. Even if they don't know for sure if it's the individual that killed Bastien, it was still a threat. A land shark in the Grounds was unacceptable. There were people here, members of his family, that wouldn't stand a chance against one if caught unawares. Heck, there were four of them here. And they'd barely managed to kill it. If one person was caught alone? They'd be dead like Bastien. Unless it was someone like Wessex that is.
Nikolai turns to the others, "I'm good. Everyone else ok?" As the others pull themselves together he approaches the shark's body and takes a few teeth. He'll let Darkeye take the shark back, but Nikolai prefers to take his share of the spoils now.
