Leaning down, Remi placed his forehead against Rex's shoulder, letting silent tears slip against her shirt as his borrows furrowed in an anguished expression of why?. Why prefacing a thousand unsaid questions the all pointed to and demanded an answer to fill the hollow void that Ronin's death had torn in the alchemist.

Wrapping his arms around her slender frame, Remi shook his head against her. "Are they saying now we should not have attacked the demon? " He whispered, pulling back to stare into her calming oceanic stare. The skin around his eyes were red from the tears, making the paleness of his verdant stare somehow seem all the greener for his sadness. Remi had heard whispers of it as he had left, and Vai had brought word of it as well. But that had been days ago.

Were things better or worse now? Was Ronin's death just a fuel for some fire that in life, he would have laughed at and ignored? Were they just using him to win a war?
