Character of the Season
Frail in body but dangerously quick of mind, Nikandr is the sort of character who proves that curiosity can be just as perilous as any weapon. A necromancer, inventor, and problem-solver with more ambition than self-preservation, Niki approaches the world like a puzzle box begging to be opened, even when what’s inside has teeth. Blunt, dry-witted, fiercely independent, and carrying a history best left partially buried, he has a knack for making even failure feel fascinating. Whether he’s raising the dead, moving across Caido to King's End, or experiencing a hangover for the first time, Nikandr brings a wonderfully strange spark to Caido, and we can’t wait to see what trouble his brilliant mind wanders into next.

Bastien certainly wasn't used to being called 'young one', but he didn't take it as an insult, smiling to himself as he obediently stopped where he stood. "The facts. Ah...I have been in your position and I know they will be hard to believe. But I assume you were somewhere else, going about your normal life, and then - woosh - you were here, yes?" He waited for some kind of confirmation then continued: "You have been brought to Caido. It is an entirely new world. You were brought here by a Goddess here called the Voice. It is...complicated as to the reason why, but I must tell you there is not a way back."
It was always difficult to say that last part, but he thought it best to get it out in the open as soon as possible. Bastien knew the torment it had caused him at first, all the unfinished business and open ends left behind in Venice. "Darkeye? I see. And you are some kind of warrior, I assume, from your clothing?"
