Astaroth
// a beast in the business of selling forgiveness //
The explanation as it starts to leave the shorter man is certainly not what he expects – but the smile remains the entire time. He’s not going to give away his thoughts so quickly, not until he’s done. Immediately the question that jumps to his mind is why,  but he gains an explanation for that as well – albeit, not exactly one that he’s too fond of. He, himself, and his fellow Ancients have only the Climb and here to speak to their gods, and as far as Asta can remember and as far as he can assume, the rest of the old god shrines are littered everywhere.

But, he waits and shifts his weight a little until he sees the young man grow a little nervous and restless, closing the suggestion quickly and succinctly with a click of his jaw, and Astaroth takes a long deep inhale, formulating his words as he was often so known to do. “Dygra is an ‘old god’, my dear.” Astaroth hasn’t been around for the Voice, but he’s heard the rumors and stories in passing of the Ascended and what had occurred. But Dygra had been here just as long as Caido had. “Perhaps I’m misunderstanding why, if we have to travel many a distance away in order to see her ourselves when we are in other lands and have no complaints, why it isn’t something that you and the other visitors are capable of doing?” It isn’t to be mean, of course, general curiosities and all that.

Astaroth tends to be a bit blunt, though. There are some certain nuances not learned out of him from being born from one of the first few cannibal groups in what was the predecessor of Halo.

I don’t believe I need more time to answer. I just want more understanding as to why. Especially when you and the others do not live here.” It feels like an interjection into this newfound home for the Ancients, one that he selfishly doesn’t believe needs to cater to the rest of the world.
