Talyson successfully got the attention of the void-blighted Tangleweed. Distracted away from its intended meal, it litched out of the way of the slashing dagger, left both the horse and Hotaru be and came barreling towards the Messenger with tentacles flailing and Hotaru's projectiles exploding right at it's figurative heels. Lashing at the tall man with shadowy tentacles, he could thank his armor for avoiding another nightmare acid trip.

Seeing her friend assaulted by the plant creature, Maea moved around to get behind the thing, summoned fire into her hand and hurled it. Her target was much bigger this time, and the flames lashed the dark vines; a putrid black smoke began to rise and the thing let out a terrible groan like that of bending, sqeaking wood.
