Abraia’s face was lit with a pure mischief. She could see Eternum stalking around, serious as he made his snowballs from her vantage point. It was adorable how he looked so intense, so focused.
She had set her trap well. There, just a few feet away from him, was her decoy. Her bright red hat on top of a snowman hastily built. It wasn’t her best work, but it didn’t have to be. She knew it was working, the whole point was to lure him in, and he was sneaking toward it, hunched and determined.
Abraia tried to stifle a giggle, her hands clutched a whole arsenal of snowballs she had carefully made while watching him fumble with his aim. “Eternum,” she whispered to herself, “you’re about to totally walk right into it.”
She waited until he was nearly close enough to reach out and touch the snowman. He crouched low, looked so serious, preparing for what he probably thought was the perfect ambush. Abraia’s heart beat faster with that excitement. This was the moment she had worked for, earned, maybe won, the moment of victory.
