Alys had not, in fact, been aware of Sunjata's and Hotaru's infection, although were it to become known, it would certainly explain a great deal. She had wondered why King's End had not undertaken any protective measures against the Void and the Family, but the problem had frankly seemed far away when she was so rarely home. Still, had there been some efforts made, she certainly would have made the time to assist.
Perhaps it could be argued that she could have tried to initiate something herself, but that was neither here nor there.
"Sounds like you have your hands full," the seer commented mildly, watching as Belial came to life beneath Deimos's ministrations. She couldn't imagine leading a region and raising a child, particularly not at what sounded like a difficult age. Teething, she had gathered, was not for the faint of heart. "I am well, thank you. I've been busy; many people have wanted readings this season." And it had paid off; Alys was certainly comfortable with her traveling business and the income it provided. Not that Tal would have left her wanting, but it was nice to have control of her own finances.
