"The air did taste a little spicy," Kaisel remarks, attempting to glance back over his shoulder at the marking Koa describes, but to no avail. He can feel it though, the way some of the skin seems to be tugged tight, unwilling to give like it used to. He sets one hand across his shoulder and over his back, fingertips tracing the the fern-pattern of Jack's mercy. "Too bad it wasn't from something better," he laments, much preferring some kaiju-level creature slain by his prowess than the backhanded wave of a scrungly piece of shit.
"I'm not a fucking kid," comes his interjection, a thin edge clipping his voice, though he knows it's not wise to return fire at Koa when he's already got a grip on a trigger. It's not the first time his cousin has made him feel inept though, like all his efforts barely deserve a title, much less recognition, so the anger comes quick, built up in small layers over time where Kaisel has tried to shrug it off and ignore it for favor of proving Koa wrong which actions instead of words. Unfortunately this action seems to have done the opposite.
Rolling his eyes, Kaisel glowers into the distance, his own expression growing thin with distaste at the topic. "I am also a Dragoon, Koa," Kaisel says with a lifted volume, bristling at the fact his cousin can't even grant him that label among all the rest. He locks his eyes with his commander, iron to ice, but he knows this is a losing battle. Experience is begging him to pick them more wisely. Koa has command and protocol on his side, nevermind the desire too, Kaisel's just asking him not to because of who he is, not inspite of it. He sighs in forfeit of the locked wills and begins to clamber out of the fountain, hands slicking water off his skin. "Just, do whatever you have to, you will anyway. I expect I'll get my demerits back in Stormbreak, sir, so see you there."
