Hearing her name trumpeted into the brightness of the day pulled the petite woman out of her glum musings. Like a prayer answered, chaos descended upon her in the form of glittering magic and obnoxious clothes, and with a smile of something close to relief, Maea pointed out the stall for Nova before she spun her way into someone's lap. "Hey starling. I'm 'enjoying the season'," she said, painting citation marks with her fingers and a roll of her eyes. "Distract me, please. It's dreadfully boring."
Pushing out a chair next to her for Nova to take a seat, Maea patted the back of it before returning to her own bowl. The syrup was nearly gone, the flaky ice on the verge of melting, yet she couldn't be bothered to get up and pay for yet another refill. "What brings you to these parts?" she wondered idly. "Avoiding work?"
