Alys laughed at Deimos's false irritation. "To be fair, the last time we discussed you leaving Halo, I think we'd talked about going to the beach. Not... this," she said, gesturing vaguely to the mist around them. Her intent in telling him to leave Halo, at least, was to take a break, enjoy the sights of Caido without constant doom and gloom hanging over his head. And while she supposed that technically, this counted... it still wasn't exactly the lazy vacation she'd had in mind.
As for her own reasons, she shrugged. "Just passing through. I'm on my way back to King's End from Torchline." She'd had not only her own clients to see to in Torchline, but Tal's as well; her partner had been making few deliveries of late, and she hadn't wanted his business to suffer as a result.
The seer followed Deimos's gaze out to the dolphins playing in the water, shaking off thoughts of home and worries about Tal. For now, at least, she could be in the moment, just as the water creatures were: playful, fun-loving, splashing and leaping just for the sake of it - or so it seemed to Alys.
