The nightlife around them churned, and the Luminary deftly steered Colt around the most jubilant of the celebrations, opting for a slightly longer route rather than having to break through the masses. The two women chattered on as they walked, arm in arm, like old friends. Colt's commentary brought a grin to Soh's face, amused and perhaps a touch wicked. "I'll see what I can do to help, if you need," she offered.
As for drinking alone, Soh had found it to be a rather sad affair. Without someone to brighten her otherwise bleak mood, she turned into a sad drunk - or at least she thought she did. Some mornings, she woke up with only bits and pieces of her evening alone, ending up searching for clues around her room to indicate what she'd done the night before. More often than not, she found nothing, which suggested she'd curled up in the window seat with the bottle of tequila that was still there - now empty - and cried.
But tonight, she had a friend. Tonight, she was going to have a good time. She could feel it in her bones.
"I promise not to sob or puke," Soh said solemnly, though her eyes danced with mischief as they arrived at a little tiki bar that seemed perfect for their needs. They made their way through the crowd to find a barkeeper who seemed a little harried, although at this particular moment, there seemed to be a lull in orders. "Tequila sunrise, please," Soh said, fluttering her lashes at the man. "And whatever she's having." Turning to Colt, she winked. "First round's on me."
