Let's make tonight the weekend, I don't wanna wait
A wide grin races out in response, claiming every part of his face before it gives up and releases a hearty laugh. ”In that case, I guess I should be glad I got a good morning from you instead of a cursed one.” His expression turns serious rapidly though, and his fingers drum a fresh beat against the table. ” Although, it’d take a lot more than just saying bad morning, wouldn’t it?” Niki has perhaps just introduced Kaisel to a new fear. ”I mean, there’s gotta be like a uh, performance or something right? Some blood or herbs maybe, a special carving or wave of your hand?” His gaze is heavy on Niki, clearly deeming him the expert here.
As for the spooky things already here, not requiring any additions from words or otherwise, Kaisel shrugs. ”Getting a pet helps,” he reassures, thinking fondly of Ruby and Steve and his plant. Maybe they didn’t guard his house against ghouls, but they made enduring the things that go bump in the night easier for knowing they were all living through it, together. ”But either way, trust, you’ll hear some shit at night.”
The server appears and Kaisel puts in their orders, tacking on a blueberry muffin as a last whim. ”So why’re you considering moving?” he asks, his attention returning to Niki after the server departs. ”Not that you really need a reason, I suppose,” Kaisel shrugs, knowing his own reasons hadn’t always made sense to his family at the time. ”Just, usually people who do are unhappy with something, or the adventurous type.”
