Let's make tonight the weekend, I don't wanna wait
If Kaisel's eyes dart towards Niki's cane, it's definitely not because he's now concerned about how the other man might wave it about, inflicting curses like some super-sized magic wand (of which Niki would be in possession of two then—the first is his massive dick, obviously). That's actually exactly why, but Kaisel won't say as much, and instead shifts in his seat with a thoughtful "hmmm," in response. "Maybe stick with the good mornings," he suggests with an ounce of regret for even dabbling in this direction of thinking.
Charmed to hear that Niki has a cat, Kaisel perks back up, having declined slightly under the spooky shadow. "Y'know, cats are supposed to be really good with the spirit stuff. They have a deeper connection with the afterlife than most creatures, so you're probably in good hands—er, paws." He's not sure if the cat being black will summon more or not though, so he leaves that tidbit be. "Could be he's fighting demons in the middle of the night." As good a reason as any to be up at 2am bouncing off the walls.
Niki's reasons land him on the unhappy side as his reason, and they all make sense. Before Kaisel can question why not Torchline, Niki beats him to the punch, and he nods in complete understanding. "Weather and temperature are definitely important factors," he agrees. "Dislike of sand almost put me off Torchline. I've learned to live with it now though," he shrugs. "When I lived here it was about this time of year," which is a sobering realization that it's been nearly a year already. "So I'm afraid I can't offer much insight into the other seasons here, or the Grounds, but, I imagine either will have its pros and cons still. But I'd say here if only so that selfishly you are closer to Torchline, and Flora." Although admittedly with both of them having good friends in the Grounds, they head that way often enough too.
"Speaking of Flora," Kaisel says with another wide smile. "That's why I asked to meet with you, in truth. It'll be her birthday next season, so I've been working on her gift." The server arrives and distributes their drinks and muffin while Kaisel pulls his backpack to him and fishes out the glass orb. He sets it on the table between them and slides it across to Niki. "This is my present to her. It holds memories and can replay them later, so I've been asking her friends and family to put their favorite memory with or of her inside here, so that she can see them all later." He motions with his hand towards it. "If you'd be so kind as to add your touch to this, I'd be so grateful."
