Nova
Here's to alcohol,
Only aware of her own physical symptoms when the meat hit her tongue, Nova didn't notice Marcus's newfound focus - or lack thereof. She chewed on the savory meat, impressed with how good it tasted despite not seeing any spice or seasoning. Maybe she was just that hungry, or maybe it was the cozy atmosphere sitting next to Marcus in the glow of the river.
Still, she found it hard to believe that much could taste better than this, and she tilted her head to hear his sister's cooking was better. Her blue eyes looked to him, surprised as she swallowed the bite in her mouth. "Really? This is pretty good."
He seemed a little overeager to carve up the rest of the rabbit when she mentioned it, but she figured he might be just as hungry after running around too. The leaf was piled high with succulent meat that gave off a delicious whisp of steam in the cold air. When he handed it over, Nova smiled wide, her hand brushing his to accept the makeshift plate. "Thanks," she said, already popping a strip into her mouth as she set it between them on the ground so she didn't have to hold the heavy mountain of meat.
Having realized Marcus hadn't eaten any yet, Nova grabbed a large piece and offered it out with a sweet smile, her hand close enough to his face for him to bite. Barely having swallowed her second mouthful, she insisted, "Here, you should eat some too."
