NIKI
Niki is extremely sore from the adventure, the combination of wagon-sitting for a couple of days in a row and sleeping out on a bedroll one that his body has been protesting for hours now. On the plus side, the work will soon have a healing river flowing through the bones of King's End, and if anyone can make very good use out of it, it's an ailing and bruised necromancer. All of that is to say that when Sunjata knocks the door, it does take a bit of time for Niki to answer, and he almost leaves it to pretend no one is home.
A good thing he doesn't in the end, slate blue eyes widening in soft surprise to see the Heartless on his doorstep; dressed in a dark cableknit sweater and soft black pants, the necromancer seems even more ruffled than usual (because he's just crawled off the sofa from a nap). "Good morning, Sunjata," he says automatically, a smile twitching at his lips as he steps aside for him to come in.
"You brought coffee? That is very kind of you. To what do I owe the pleasure?"
